Like ohhhh my godddd? So uh, in the new Resident Evil game, one of the long running protagonists… just BREAKS INTO A MOTHER’S HOME?? AND STARTS ATTACKING HER AND HER CHILDREN???? FOR NO REASON?????? The game literally MAKES you do this, there’s no way to progress through the area without doing this.
Literally after initially attacking her and moving through her home, he starts ONE BY ONE killing her children!?!?! Before progressing further to murder their mother.
There’s a horrific scene of him driving an axe through her throat like he’s some kind of fucking slasher?! And the game does nothing to frame any kind of wrongdoing on his part, it just leaves you the player to come to the dawning realization about how much of a monster this man has become.
He’s single driven towards one selfish goal. And literally I’m putting the game down. This was disgusting. Literally the worst villains in the franchise don’t hold a candle to this.
I’m horrified, I’m disgusted. I expect better from Capcom and Resident Evil. There’s a line horror franchises shouldn’t cross.

So apparently people are flabbergasted that the new resident evil game features an explicit Porsche ad in the form of a Porsche car that you can drive in game, and they're mad bc of immersive advertising within their video game (which is fair fuck advertising) but they're acting like it's sudden and new and I'm just here thinking. Just a complaint I have with the language I've been seeing in this fandom.
I understand genderbends. I like them myself as they were one of the things that helped me unlock my identity. However, it was my understanding that genderbends were best utilized in fandoms that were sausage parties. Aka a genderbends best habitat is with media that has an extremely male dominated cast. Resident Evil is very much NOT that kind of franchise.
There is a damn good variety of women in this franchise, and some have multiple appearances where you can get obsessed over them. You also can play as them! It genuinely looks like people are avoiding having to interact at all with these women characters when they decide to genderbend the male leads.

resident evil allegedly has 4 core protagonists but the treatment for all of 4 them is so insanely warped. claire is basically forgotten now both in games and in merch. one of jill's core titles (re3) got a shitty half assed afterthought 4 hour long remake and she's constantly being put in weird sexual scenes. neither of them are allowed to age and they didnt even bother giving jill a unique DI look. I'm at my limit with this series and how it treats 2 women who are SUPPOSED to be as important as leon and chris (WHO GET EVERYTHING.)
