Why are we all still here? Just to suffer

i personally do not support proshipping(aka darkshipping i think?), so thus im asking for clarification so i can step away from your blog if needbe

i am not sending hate, i am simply asking so i can see if i need to go my separate ways

id rather ask than assume, so uh, yeah

I am proship and I enjoy dark ships and writing about dark and taboo contents. that said, the definition of proship is “anti censorship and anti harassment”. you can be proship and still dislike some things in fiction. there are things in fiction that make me uncomfortable, but I believe people can enjoy and/or create it if they want. what others do is not my business, especially when they’re not harming anyone in real life, and I will never shame or harass someone over fiction, even if it’s personally not my thing.

And the thing is, I could nitpick tons of minute details and inferences you could make (don'ttest me. I really could), and there's still nothing to really explicitly show that Cyrus would treat Pixal any different from the rest of the ninja.

Closest we have is Crystallized, I suppose? Kai says we cant just call Cyrus and ask him for the staff and then Pixal does just that. Its a funny joke and I like it a lot, but is Cyrus agreeable because that's his daughter and he'd give her anything she asks for, or is it because she's on the ninja team and he's used helping whenever they as a whole need it?

It's very upsetting every time I think about it.

The only ONLY person to referr to Cyrus as Pixal’s father is Nya. Clearly an expert at paternal relationships and has no issues or biases at all.

From s3 to s6, there is nothing to really show that Pixal cares for Cyrus. She takes care of him and listens to what he says while she's his assistant, but we never see her do this of her own volition.

That changes in s7. Because Pixal becomes Samurai X for Cyrus. She doesn't have to. She doesn't belong to Cyrus and he never asked for her help specifically and yet she still did it. She lied to everyone for Cyrus. She put Cyrus' safety over Zane's, for christ's sake. Something she'd never do in the modern seasons.

Most of her lines this season are about rescuing Cyrus, for example.

P.I.X.A.L. EP 67: (On computer) Zane. Zane. Wake up. Wake up! (Sighs.) Come on, snap out of it. He needs us! Ugh!

P.I.X.A.L. EP 68: What is going on is I'm trying to unscramble Zane's neural pathways so we can go rescue Cyrus Borg. And you haven't tried everything. You need to realign Zane's neural inputs. Can you hear me? Hello—

She is putting all the importance on Cyrus. She's literally begging Zane to save him.

To put this in perspective, she's never asked Zane for anything before. She never asked him to save her (both during the blackout and on Chen's island) Never asked him to put her in his processor. These were his decisions. And yet once Cyrus is in trouble, she begs Zane to save him for her.

When Zane is damaged in the middle of s7, Pixal wants him to be repaired as quickly as possible to go save Cyrus. And when that doesn't happen, she leaves Zane.

Later in the season as Samurai X when she does manage to rescue Cyrus, she doesn't try to stick around and aid the fight. Her only concern is getting Cyrus home. Its only after Zane tells her that Cyrus is the only one who who can shut down the Iron Doom does she even consider sticking around.

Why would she do all this when she would supposedly cares for Zane more. Why does she put Cyrus over the ninja team? Sure, they can take care of themselves in ways that Cyrus can't, but if they don't stop Krux and Acronix, she and Zane would cease to exist. Surely, this would mean her only goal would be to defeat them.

And yet she puts Cyrus' safety first. That is her dad. You cannot convince me otherwise. Ever.

P.I.X.A.L.: Sir, you created me and gave me life. I belong to you. Yet, Zane saved my life. When I was with him I felt...a connection. I felt...free.

Cyrus: P.I.X.A.L., remember this: you belong to no one.

I think Cyrus being put in danger is what reminded her that she is her own person. That she has a choice.

She left Zane, stole Nya's samurai x gear, and lied to everyone she held dear in order to save her father. And then afterwards, she kept lying. She kept being her own person.

She belongs to nobody, just like her father told her years ago.

And if you'll join me in fanfic delusion, then I'd say Cyrus' perspective of Pixal is this: he loves her and he would absolutely claim her his daughter, but be doesn't. Not unless she wants him to be her father first. He told her that she is free, that she belongs to no one. To claim she's his daughter would be to put another label on her, establish another position of power over her.

And Pixal likely wouldn't explicitly call Cyrus her father either. She knows she cares deeply for Cyrus, that much is obvious, but she doesn't really have a word for it. She doesn't use labels with Zane, so why would Cyrus be any different?
