I heard a homeless man begging for food, But I didn’t say anything because it’s not my business. I heard the pastor hitting his wife, But I didn’t say anything because it’s not my business. I heard a white man mistreat a black man, But I didn’t say anything because it’s not my business. I heard how ICE took my neighbors children, But I didn’t say anything because it’s not my business. Until one day The person next to me Saw how they kicked me out the bus For not having a mark on my head, And now I realize I deserve the same empathy I gave others. They minded their business.

Life is not the same when you know stuff When you know stuff you're not supposed to know. Life is not the same when you are the one to bare the news. Life is not the same when you see people suffer, Life is not the same when you know you'll suffer next. Life is not the same when you realize racism, It's not the same the first time you're called a f*g, or when they call you ma'am when you're a guy. Life is not the same when they call you retard, Or when you're 21 and because you're autistic They won't serve you a drink. Life is not the same when you're 13 And you realize your favorite politician is evil, Your favorite singer too, Your favorite actor, Your favorite influencer, And your favorite anchor as well. Life is not the same when you realize you've been lied to. You pray to God, but the religion was built on a lie too. And it's all humans, It was never God, It was never the money that made us bad, It was always us. The human was always evil. It's your job to not be evil too.

Why is it so hard telling the truth? Is is because the truth hurts? Is it because the truth is worse? How is it possible We got to this point, Where reality is worse Than the worse things we could imagine? I close my mouth with my hand in horror, Even the people who "care about us" are involved. This is the government, These are the millionaires, And this is the world we live in.

The truth is I’m tired, I’m heart broken, I’m lost. I tell the truth and I report on kidnappings I tell the truth and I report the war I tell the truth And I bear the bad news.

Communism, socialism, I ain't buying it. Democrats, republicans, I only hear crying. One thing you need to know about capitalism, Only two kinds of people make it out alive: Three millionaire families, And four members of the government. I didn't even want to mention it, But also six children… Who went missing seven years ago. That's almost all a child with eight fingers could count, But those are many fingers for nine years in a war. If you kept waking up at ten a.m., Would you have noticed the five missing women? This is what I mean when I say people are easily distractible They fix you up so you up with phones so you can be manipulable Will you stay silent or will you be the change? Wrong! This is something you won't be able to save.

Ana Ramirez is a young woman studying Digital Journalism at Florida International University in Miami. Born in Venezuela the 4th of July of 2004, Ramirez’s passions lie on informing people since childhood.

Ramirez studied in the International school of Caracas where she learned the english language. This school would give her the opportunity of learning terms that weren’t respected in Venezuela at the moment, such as democracy, free speech, protesting, etc. Appearing in the Venezuelan news channel “Globovision” at the age of 15, speaking on the issue of climate change, was the first step into her passion.

Ramirez is chasing her dream of soon becoming a reliable source of information, and showing mankind the truth about the state of the world without biases.

I wanted to start by thanking Prof. Arteaga for this assignment, because even though it may or may not be forgotten after the course, it helps students not only to create some kind of resume or portfolio, but also it helps us to put ourselves out in the real world, since sometimes experience prevails over a diploma.

So thank you Professor, and thank you to anybody else reading this.

As a Journalism student, I had always thought of creating any kind of social media, no matter if it was for video or writing content, to inform people of the important news we need to be aware of.

I’ve always said I wanted to study journalism so humanity doesn’t make the same mistakes it did before.

Of course humanity will always make mistakes, but at least I’ll do the most I can to make some good in the world, and I deeply believe that telling someone the truth is the best demonstration of love there can be, and I love humanity.

As my dreams to have my own news blog need polishing, practicing, and many other factors, for this assignment, this blog will be about poems that will resemble the news I want to talk about, and my feelings towards those them.

When people watch/read despairing news, they might feel sad or worried, feeling that usually goes away after some time, but people usually don’t think about how everyone involved in the dismantling and telling of the story, such as police, judges, and anchors feel when giving such bad news.

That is why I want to include these poems of such nature in this blog. We as humans have gotten desensitized to many horrible things, and I imagine reporters, cops, doctors, and judges need to be desensitized to be able to do their job without biases, but every time I still wonder… How do they feel behind the scenes? how will I feel when I have to be the bearer of bad news?
