i get real annoyed when people try to out smart you with well ffxiv has always referenced past final fantasy's because i know this. ive known longer than you because you got INTO ff through xiv, i played xiv because i had no other ff game that i didnt Already play. (besides 11 sorry well get there one day) because it only happens when i complain about post 6.0s reliance on ff knowledge to act as a stand-in for good story telling. dawntrail was not a good game because it stopped being interested in being a game at all and just wanted to do ff9 again, and if 8.0 is the same way its gonna be dogshit too SORRY. because i Know ffxiv has referenced characters/ character arcs, stories, ect. i recognized them immediately but they were always to Compliment xiv not replace it. now its just replacing story like jesus 6. patches were unbearably repetitive and simplistic. it was genuinely insulting to it and ff4. this is just a bitch post. no good overarching message just fix your shit xiv
