we need to talk about isanesskai more. i know well, most of the fans ship kainess and usually hate on kaisagi or aren't used to ship isaness because it sounds so weird and most of the people aren't used to it. honestly, i like to ship them as queerplatonic (i don't ship them as queerplatonic just because i'm queerplatonic too, lol).
queerplatonic means when a person or a character have semi-romantic feeling towards someone but at the same time they don't want it to be romantic at all.
first, why do i like this triangle?
i like it because of the difference between their dynamics and how they behave with eachother. i like how opposites they are and sometimes how they fit well.
kaiser-isagi: the bond between these two is quite complex by isagi point of view sometimes. kaiser is a character who uses arrogance to hide his fragile part of himself while isagi completely believes in himself and has a bold personality; he often admirers other players and creates a bond with them to improve himself, which happened with kaiser when he finally understood his play style and his admiration. kaiser relies on isagi because he brings him audacity that often lead him to a harsh personality, isagi is like the only thing that makes him feel motivated to continue.
kaiser-ness: the situation becomes more delicate here, since kaiser and ness entirely changed their tie from the moment kaiser saw isagi and completely isolated ness. before we all know they were really close and had a really good friendship, they both cared for eachother, there was an healthy relationship. however, ness is a really sensitive character that cries a lot too, who tends to imitate kaiser's harsh personality since he knew the reason of it, so he decided to make that change, too. he adapted himself to the person he cares the most to be loved, appreciated, to be kaiser. he does everything to protect him because if someone hurts him, ness basically gets hurt as well. there is something missing between their bond, that needs to fill the weak communication between the two.
isagi-ness: i really like their behaviours and how ness seems to be misscharacterized by isagi himself just because he seems "stupid" to his eyes and isn't as his level. ness hates isagi, just because he think isagi is against kaiser, and often attacks him just to show he's by kaiser side so isagi would get "weaker". however, it's pretty true that the two characters don't know eachother well and they need a "bridge" to change their points of view. ness has great capacities and he's pretty talented with such an unique play style and mindset, but he doesn't applies to himself to show them off, he often relies on kaiser because it's the closes person to him. ness sees kaiser as someone to admire, to cheer and to comfort. comforting him, subsequently comforts himself too. isagi doesn't know pretty much about him but he knows he's a loving machine. i know that isagi actually cares about him even if he doesn't show it off, because ness often seems as arrogant, mean or harsh. this behaviour, makes isagi impossible to access to his mentality. isagi also noticed kaiser's behaviour towards him, that for ness seems normal. sometimes I wonder how isagi would react if he had to know kaiser's older version... soo... in short terms, ness's imitating personality makes a sort of a barrier between him and isagi, making impossible to communicate properly.
them three together make a sort balanced triangle; because they all need someone between the two to have better relationships. they all need eachother as support.
also i like how isagi asked kaiser if ness was special to him, i'm pretty sure that made ness doubt about isagi at that time.
ness is the definition of emotional attachment, could do anything for the one he loves. he's pure loyalty, however it pisses me off a little when some fans see him as just a stupid puppy and doesn't look a little at the character himself. (yes i do see the comparison and it does make sense a little and i know there are people who deeply know the character and use this comparison at the same time, too). he's often misunderstood and most don't understand his mind, sadly.
