The piercer gets pierced.

Even when I love my hair I don’t really. I blame the, “women’s” magazines of my youth. Cosmo in the late 90’s and early 00’s was brutal and I feel like I’m entitled to some kind of compensation lol

But this season is different, I think. It occurs to me that I’m not depressed. Rather I feel hopeful and optimistic in a way that is a little uncharacteristic of me. I am compelled to be thankful for the warm sweaters rather than cuss the cold winds. Good things are coming, like Spring. But good things are already here.

A quarter of a century tattooing my body and I only ever felt regret early on. I understood from the start that by marking myself in such a way I was giving up some ability to navigate covertly among the normals. But no worries. These days there are no regrets, as they say. I prefer my outside mirror my inside.

These days I don’t do too much gambling. I prefer to invest. It’s paying off big time.

Sean took these pictures last winter at one the best little bars in Northern Kentucky. Some things have changed profoundly since that night. Rest peacefully, Olive Dog 🖤

Instead of my skin becoming tougher as time passes, I feel rather more tender. But that’s okay. I’m willing to embrace sensitivity.

A labor of love, time travelled all the way from 1966! A gift from my sweet husband on the occasion of my 43rd birthday. Just in love with this mid century marvel!

I’m compelled to move forward always. Thankful for the GIFT that is the passing of time, with its awesome power to reveal and heal.
