hey, that makes total sense. personally it was the opposite for me. i grew up with a lesbian mother that married women. me being a woman myself, i could never see myself marrying a man. my mother showed me that you marry men for money and i didnโt care to marry for that reason. sometimes i still think it though. the idea of marrying a woman was natural to me. i always considered myself a lesbian until very recently. i always dated women and iโd reject men, even if i had interest in them. i just never saw it heading to marriage and i am the kind of person that dates someone with the intent of marriage down the line. i came to the realization that i donโt have to contain myself to one aspect of sexuality. to me, the idea of love itself is fluid, unpredictable and unconditional. ultimately we do not control it. it just is. so it just doesnโt need to be defined at all. to me anyway. i grew up around a lot of gay people since i was very little and i feel like that influenced me heavily. not to mention todays influence of the gay/hetero communities with its strong presence of biphobia. iโve come to realize that i absolutely hate labeling and defining. really, what does it matter anyway? itโs for me to know and what i know is that for me, the body is so utterly irrelevant when it comes to love and marriage. and a persons sexuality does not define them. it does not make them better or worse. and really, itโs only the concern of the one you are with. such a complex topic. but really, it neednโt be. if only we could all be so free from outside influences to just be ourselves. this is ultimately why i donโt include myself in any communities. including lgbt. iโm a perfect example that it goes both ways. the lgbt is not without negative influence either. people will negatively influence others. the key word is people. sexuality has nothing to do with this. i hope one day people are more prone to just live their lives without care of filling someone else expectations of how things should be.
