I made a Collin McHugh card tonight. Based off of the 1984 Topps design. Pitchers and catchers report in 33 days, y’all.
Shades and Stripes.
Classic. Love these Hostess cards.
Luis Valbuena custom, in 1971 Topps style. I love watching this kid hit.
Oh, hi Tumblr. I’m back.
Been making a few cards. This is based off the 1951 Bowman football design, increased to normal card size. Easler was drafted by the Astros in 1969 and only played in 26 games for the Astros from 1973-75 before getting traded to the Cardinals in June of 1975. He would go on to post a .293/.349/.454 slash line over basically 10 seasons (about 9 1/2 full seasons, 14 years), including a .302/.354/.474 line in his six years with the Pirates. He was a member of the 1979 World Championship team, and made the NL All-Star team in 1981. He amassed a total of 12.9 bWAR, including 7.9 during his time with Pittsburgh.
Easler was never featured on a card as an Astros player, so I worked a little photoshop majic to come up with this. I love the old-school batting gloves that he has on, they don’t even look like they are supposed to be used for baseball.Â

11 Years Ago Today ... Ruben Rivera Became A TOOTBLAN Legend
That’s why he’s a Hall of Famer.
Remember when he went 0-6 in the 1998 NLDS but the Astros still lost the series to the Padres so that sucks. That was a poor run-on to celebrate poor base-running.

Worked up a '59 Topps template, but I couldn't stop there. So I decided that it'd be fun to swap out the solid color block for one of the most famous jerseys in baseball history: the historic "Tequila Sunrise" Astros jerseys from the '80s.
I started with the full striping, which includes the paler yellow between the marigold bars, but then looked at it again and decided that might be a bit overkill. I'd be interested to know whether you prefer it with or without that bar.
In the meantime, here are two variations of a '59 Jose Altuve card.
Reblog, because of course.
If you believe in your heart, kid, you can never go wrong.
