Dear Diary,

My name is Ayesha.

And today is the day that everything changes. Last Saturday, at my brother's graduation, I wished on a shooting star. I didn't know then, that my wish would come true--in the worst way.

"Ayesha.." my dad told me at breakfast. "I guess there's only one way to say this... I got fired, and I think we're gonna have to move."

..WHAT?!

He let out a long sigh, and pressed his eyebrows together. "Living here has only been getting more expensive lately. Your mother and I have been thinking about moving to Heatherfield."

"Heatherfield?! Where tf is even that??"

"It's about a 3 day drive, we'll go near end of summer, so you can get a last summer with your friends here. But, it's a pretty nice place, and your mother grew up there. It's famous.. for its uh.. famous fields.. of heather."

I couldn't believe my ears. My first year of highschool.. in a completely different state.. and my brother is going to be in college.. my Mom keeps reminding me we can video chat anytime, but it's not the same as seeing each other at breakfast everyday and watching movies on the couch after school. Things are going to be so different here.

Next thing I know, I'm packing up my clothes while my dad and brother load the U-Haul.

How can I hold back my tears when everything I know is changing out of nowhere? All the classmates I grew up with, the ones who I always imagined graduating with, are gone. Still there, but in a whole world I'll never have access to, in a high school I'll never know. All I can do is keep packing.

With summer's edge approaching, my family and I would be standing at the doorstep of our new apartment. It was two stories, and ours was on the top floor. My dad hated that part, but my mom loved the new patio. There's only two bedrooms here. One for my parents, and one for me. I still haven't wrapped my head around the fact that I'm basically an only child now.

All I can do is unpack.

And go to sleep.
