Was feeling inspired bc RWBY and I wanted to make an OC.

Loosely based on Mayari in Philippine mythology. Mayari is the goddess of the moon and according to a variant of her story (generally believed to have originated from Pampanga), Bathala (supreme god, also her her father), died without leaving behind a will and no apparent way to distribute the world. Apolaki (secondary god, but in this variant is Mayari’s brother), wanted to have sole dominion of the world, however Mayari wanted to divide the world equally. The two clashed and fought each other with bamboo clubs. The fight ended when Apolaki gouged out Mayari’s eye, and conceded to dividing the world. He would have his reign during the day, and Mayari during the night. However, the moon’s light would never be as bright as the day’s because of Mayari’s missing eye.
