I’ve gotta admire how they wrote the silly wahoo man here.
For all of Mario’s depictions as a lighthearted, levelheaded hero, I was really expecting him to just give Bowser a quick punch in the face in a flash of rage, but the way he threw him to the ground while screaming and stomped on him was definitely more violent than expected, and a very clear loss of control.
It’s a nice quick reminder that despite how well Mario’s grown into his role of a hero, being talked down to and treated like garbage for most of his life still takes a toll on him. He wants to be the hero everyone needs him to be, and he’s pretty good at holding himself together 90% of the time, but once you reach that breaking point or touch a certain nerve his anger issues and impulse control problems become a very clear Achilles heel, and I love it.

I felt like Nine making friends with Rusty would've been a no-brainer ... they're both grouchy little tough cookies who spent their childhoods in a bad place and had to get mean to survive ... they were both villains for a while but came around in the end ... also Rusty's clearly way overdue for some maintenance, so? friendship with the local boy genius maybe?? ;w;
on a side-note, I can't believe how detailed Rusty's character model is, whoever designed her did NOT care about any fanartist's life, why does she have so many BITS

Your Knuckles is JUST as adorable as your foxes! Such a sweetheart and I love that he's now ranked highest in Nine's mind because of that. Also, I will never tire of you actually drawing Nine with his hood up! He's just too cute!
