When Eddie Was...
A/N- I wrote this for a part of my writing portfolio for my master's degree. A lot has changed since then. I actually dropped out and I have found writing something really hard to do for a while, so though I may as well post it whilst I have something written.
When Eddie was five, all he dreamed to be in the world was a magician. To pull rabbits out of hats and make large object disappear and reappear. He practised and practised. Showing his friends and family all the new tricks, he had learnt. Taking in their smiles and cheers when he successfully orchestrated the magic trick. That dream was shattered when Eddieâs father told him that all magic was fake, and that magicians were all conmen, ripping money out the hands of the easily manipulated. Eddie didnât want to be a conman. He just wanted to make people happy. He just wanted his dad to smile.
When Eddie was nine, all he dreamed in the world was for his parents was to be happy together. He spent most nights sat in his room, clutching on to his stuffed crocodile as he heard his father slam cabinets and smash plates. Hesitating to go downstairs as his motherâs cries reached all the way up the stairs, down the landing, and under his bedroom door. That dream was shattered when his father left. Sitting on the stairs, Eddie had watched as his mother pleaded his father not to leave. He sat as his father walked out the door, not sparing his son a single glance as he turned his back on his family. Eddie didnât want to be part of a broken family. He just wanted his family to be happy. He just wanted his dad to come back.
When Eddie was fourteen, all he dreamed in the world was for his mum to wake up. Falling into depression after his father left, Eddie had to watch as his mother relied on drugs and alcohol to get through her days. He thought maybe if he became her supplier then at least he could monitor how much and what she had. But he knew that wouldnât stop her getting harder drugs from someone else. Eddie cried for the first time since his father left when he came home from school one day and found his mother unconscious on the kitchen floor. Eddie didnât want to be his mumâs drug dealer. He just wanted his mum to wake up.
When Eddie was fifteen, all he dreamed in the world was for his mum to have not died. She wasnât in the coma for long. All the years of abuse was too much for her already broken heart. Eddie knew that the drugs and alcohol played a big part in her death, but he truly believed she died long before the drugs and alcohol took her life. Moving in with his uncle wasnât ideal. But it was better than being in foster care for a few years and then by himself. A new town where no one knew him was a good thing. But Eddie didnât want a new start. He just wanted his mum to be alive.
When Eddie was nineteen, all he dreamed in the world was to graduate. To get out of the hell hole that he had been in for the past four years. Put the relentless bullying behind him. Drive away from the run-down trailer that he and his uncle lived in. To finally be free of all the pain and hurt that he had faced. But the world had other ideas for Eddie. He didnât think he would be facing accusations of murder and staring in the eyes of evil itself. Eddie just wanted a new start. He just wanted to run away from it all.
When Eddie was twenty, all he dreamed in the world was to stop running. To be the hero. So, he did. He stopped running from everything he had faced and fought instead. Giving his friends a bit more time. Helping them to survive the monsters they were facing. Eddie always regretted not stopping his father from leaving. Not stopping his mother from overdosing. Not staying to help when he could. But now he was helping. He was finally doing what he wanted.

You've probably heard this, but the little doe jon snow fanfiction would make great fanfiction. You probably have at least 3 to 4 chapters. Amazing story, or a part two happy ending would be cool. But if no happy ending great ending as it is. đ€đđ
Hi! Sorry for such a late reply but thank you for enjoying Little Doe. I never really had any intentions to carry it on. Its also been so long since I've seen game of thrones I would have to refresh my memory on it to write.
However, I will never say never, as the new prequel series may just get me into carrying it on.

echo it loud
song mingi x reader
synposis: itâs the summer after graduation, and mingi hopes youâll stick around.
genres: angst, smut, fluff
warnings: melodramatic reader, angst, friends with benefits, crying, making out, fingering, sex, slight dirty talk, fwb to lovers, trust issues, insecurities
word count: 11.4k
notes: this takes place in the same universe as this fic, which you may read for world building, but itâs not necessary.
It was an unbearably hot summer. The news had warned of it even before graduation, alerting families of the heat that would roll through town the coming few months. It was just the sort of foreboding youâd expect; the promise of an intense heat to accompany the swelling feelings, the accumulation of all your schooling, and a fearful new beginning.
Graduation should have been a good thing, and by all accounts, it had been. Youâd accepted your diploma, celebrated with your family at home when youâd read through your grades and found out youâd achieved just what you needed, what you had worked so hard for, the grades that would promise you a bright future. Graduation day had been good too, even though saying goodbye to your friends had been hard, all of your friends teary-eyed as if anyone had anywhere but home to go, as if youâd ever find yourselves more than 20 minutes apart in this sleepy town.
Looming just ahead, like clouds and rain to disrupt the warmth, there was Mingi. He had watched you during assembly, you had seen him turn around in his chair, search the auditorium for your face, and youâd turned promptly when his eyes finally swiped over your friends. You had felt his eyes on you, even more so when you climbed the steps to the stage to accept your diploma. The auditorium had been swimming from the suns effect already, sunhats had been turned into makeshift fans, and diplomas were waved in front of faces to gain any sort of relief, yet Mingis eyes on you had burned hotter, even hotter than your heart as you pretended not to notice.
This is everything and more! Once again, youâve written utter perfection. The work you write is so genuine and real and honest that I sometimes worry that youâve reached into my brain and taken out all the thoughts and feelings I have and but it into words.
You are so amazing and special. Please never stop writing đ„șđ

Hey @mingirn ! Hope you have an amazing weekend and Valentineâs Day! đâșïž Hereâs my answers:
8. Do you think you can put love into categories (family, platonic, romantic, etc.) or is it just one general sensation?
I think love is more of a spectrum than anything, like all emotions and feelings. Because, personally, I have friends who I love more than family members and family members who I love more than other family members. Same goes for having friends I love more than other friends. With family, because of things that have gone on in my life and in the past, I can easily admit that I do have love for my family members close to me but they way I would describe that love would not be as strong as my love for my two closest friends. And thatâs because of how they have shaped my life and supported me and helped me continue staying sane. Yet, whilst my love for my family may be lacking, it is still there. I still love them, no matter what theyâve put me through. In terms of romantic love, I can say Iâve never been in love that way and part of the reason is because Iâve never allowed myself to experience it due to the influences around me growing up and currently. Not only that, but I feel that the constant reassurance I would need and the overwhelming insecurities I have would cause it to fail no matter what. It would be nice to be in love romantically. To know what it feels like. But I know what platonic love feels like and the way I show that and accept that is alright for now. Love is different for everyone but I definitely think it cannot be pushed in one category.
36. Have you ever met someone who had a very similar personality to your own? Did you get along?
My MBTI is INFJ/P (the last letter always switches) but my personality doesnât Galwayâs reflect that as I can be an extrovert when I am with the right people. I have met people with a very similar personality to me and my relationships with these people have all been different. I would say my best friend and I have very similar personalities and we get on like a house on fire. But thatâs not to say we havenât had moments where weâve annoyed each other and thatâs because we have such similar personalities. But it helps because it means we understand each other a lot better. We can have a conversation without talking and make the same jokes about things. But thatâs not just because we have similar personalities. Itâs also because weâve built this friendship over the past three years. There have been people with my exact personality who I have not got on with at all and itâs because we knew what annoyed each other, or when we tried to connect in ways thereâs was nothing new to learn or shape to because we were the same. I always think itâs good not to always get along with only your personality type as it allows you to grow and adapt to other people and the world around you.
55. Is a conscious what makes someone a person?
I think your conscious is part of what makes you a person but it isnât entirely the only thing. What makes you who you are is the people youâve met, the experiences youâve had, the life youâve lied, the decisions youâve made, the knowledge youâve learnt, the skills youâve collected, and so much more. Because all these things can affect your conscious and your conscious can affect all these things. I wouldnât be who I am today if I hadnât had the life I had. I went to three primary schools. If I had only gone to two, I would be a completely different person because I wouldnât have met any of the friends I have that have changed my life for better or for worse. I also wouldnât have gone through the trauma I had. I may have gone through even more. I might not have studied the subject I am currently and I might not have decided to do things like make an account on here. Your conscious is a big part of you. It acknowledges what you think is right and wrong but that acknowledgement doesnât mean it is chosen, and what you acknowledge as right or wrong or good and bad, is all down to what your life has shown you, and the imprint the people, your surrounding, and the events in the past and present have placed on you.
