Being a Pearce, it was only natural that Reed would have some musical talent. And it helped that his mom not only encouraged him but helped him hone in his craft. Reed was lucky enough that he had professionally accessible resources to learn from. He always made it clear that Broadway was never his goal. It was way too intense for him, he could never see himself performing, and he also couldn’t act for the life of him. But he did love music, and it was always his goal to do something with that. He explored every aspect of it, from learning to play instruments, to learning how to DJ. His mom encouraged him to write his own songs, and he was lucky enough to even record some songs at an early age (though they were never released), getting some time in the studio, and learning how everything worked.
Reed was also intrigued when it came to everything behind the scenes. He had a goal of wanting to do both, like most music artists. Outside of music, Reed was the kind of guy who kept more to himself, but he always broke through that shell when he was performing. Maybe it was the adrenaline, or maybe it was just because he was a Pearce. He was just a different person when it came to music.
After high school, Reed decided to pursue a degree in Music Production in New York. It was something that he really enjoyed, and he figured that even if he couldn’t have a successful career in music as an artist, he’d at least have a back up plan. During this time, he’d occasionally DJ and perform when he could. But he also made it clear that he was going to do be doing this on his own, wanting to make a name for himself without his mother’s influence. Though she definitely opened a few doors for him along the way, and will always be more than happy to do so for him.
So he worked as a bartender, trying to save up during college. He met Eloise said bar, when he was a junior. Having music in common was such a powerful thing, and the two of them decided to form an indie duo act together. It started out with them just performing around the city, but then ended up with them traveling, and Reed also dropping out of college. They traveled around the US, and occasionally Europe. It was exciting to be a touring musician, even if they weren’t that well known. He enjoyed every single aspect of it, even if sometimes they had to resort to working while they were traveling. Nothing ever felt forced when it came to their music, and his passion hasn’t withered in the past eight years.
Being invited out to LA to record was kind of surprising, but Reed was happy about it. Even if it doesn’t make a splash on the record scene, Reed’s just excited about the opportunity. Since they’re going to be in LA for a while, Reed’s decided to enroll again in school, knowing that he’s only a few credits shy from being able to graduate with his Bachelor’s, and has began bartending once more.
The Pearce family consists of Claudia Pearce, a renowned and legendary Broadway star, most famous in theatre for her portrayal of Donna in the 20th Anniversary production of Mamma Mia, Diana Goodman in Next to Normal, but she achieved huge success when she was cast as Fantine in the movie adaptation of Les Miserables. Claudia has been a Broadway legend for most of her life, starting when she landed the standby for Elphaba in Wicked. She has three Tony awards and an Emmy, and she’s looking forward to being the first mom of four to achieve an EGOT.
Brian Pearce, on the other hand, is a man in finance. Six five, blue eyes (that some of his kids inherited) and it’s a family secret that he’s been stepping out on Claudia. Granted, their marriage has always been pretty weird, with Claudia taking the kids to New York City with her while she performed, while Brian stayed in Greenwich. Claudia is pretending everything is fine, but Brian has been going on more work trips than usual lately and she’s desperate to get back to the stage, where she’s really loved.
