MILES: gosh that was scary man... [undelivered] MILES: damn signal.... i am trying not to spiral here. [undelivered] MILES: i doubt you're getting these but i hope you're okay man! please let me know whenever the signal is back. [undelivered] MILES: so you know i am all good, i'm with my girlfriend so we have each other. @hudsonpsu
FINN: Dude, so glad to hear from you! Guessing you've got the same problems with signal tho. FINN: Glad you're both safe, I'm okay here in the caf. FINN: Any chance you heard from mom or Burt? [undelivered]
Moonberry does sound very holiday inspired! Cross my heart, I will. Yesss, I love when someone gets my silly references! Definitely not. But maybe I'll get an assistant named Hunter that writes a song about me! I know what you mean, jellybean. No sweat. It's just the cherry on top, yeah? So then you're multi-talented! I'm more of a football fan myself, but both are fun. Thanks!
I thought so! I still have it somewhere around my mess of clothes. Oh c'mon, you sold more than that, I'm certain of it! Not many people get their name on a pro jersey, period, so don't sell yourself short. You're welcome though, Finn! You aren't wrong about that. Definitely not the kind of job you just show up for. It keeps me spry! Yes I am. I didn't get to see him as much as I would have liked when we were younger, but it's better now. Plus, there was always tv. That would be the one, yep!
That's amazing of you, and I'm sure others would be thrilled to have you as their PT! I will keep that in mind if I ever get injured (I have a history of breaks... soooo). I see what you did there! But, yes. That's the plan. Then I can keep doing it for as long as my body will let me!
It does, doesn't it? Maybe Halloween, you could go Full Moonberry? Well good, that's what I like to hear. Hey the Office is definitely a favorite! And what harm could it do, right? Just make sure you get multiple copies made. Oh whew, good then! I guess you could say that, better that you do than me anyways! Ah, you've picked wisely then. You're welcome!
You're kidding, really? Maybe a few, but probably not as many as you'd think either. I guess that's a good point, that's true... thank you for the shot of confidence. And nope, I wouldn't think so at all... see, there's another benefit right there. Spryness is always a good thing. Aw, yeah? I'm sorry, but that's good at least right? And that's a good point too. Oh wow! He's a legend!
Thank you, here's hoping that turns out to be the case. Oh well let's not put that out into the universe though, you don't want to be tempting fate, right? (Oh no! I know the feeling all too well.) That sounds like a great plan, honestly, very smart of you, Dallas.
Look who it is! The best guy I know. You know I will never say no to getting on the court with you bud! Love a brothers game and it's been to long since we've played. How is retirement from playing going? Do you ever miss it?
Oh man then we have to do this soon then, Miles. It's been too long for sure, and I can't get you going all cocky on me now. It's good, I have enough to keep me busy. And sure, I can't deny there's a part of me that still wonders if I made the right call, I just try not to listen to that part. And what about you? Settling in here okay at PSU?
With you as assistant coach, I'm sure the team will go far, if not all the way! D'ya got any specific tactics or strategies you're gonna go with? I did a summer course in business marketing, that I just finished - and then my sister's doing something with food or nutritional value, or whatever it is; she knows more than me.
Nothing like a little extra pressure on there. Kidding, seriously, but thanks for that vote of confidence. And I think we have a pretty good offensive line this season, so with any luck we'll be able to hang a whole lot of points on the other teams whether or not the defense can keep their end of things up. Beyond that, we'll have to see as we go.
Oh yeah? Oh that's cool then. So you're a business owner then? Oh okay... wait, your sister, that's Dallas right?

What can I say, I have a face you can't forget. But no worries, it was kind of a compliment. You just look like the perfect poster child for sports is all. But that's totally understandable. I don't blame you for getting out of there now, and at least you still get to be involved in something football related here. Can you help whip them into shape so they don't embarrass us though? Cause that wouldn't be a good look on you, would it?
Well put, Santana. And okay, thank you... again, I think. Not everybody thinks that's a good thing. And thanks, exactly. It's nice not to entirely be starting over from scratch, to at least have something that feels familiar. Trust me, that's the goal for sure. Maybe even aiming higher than that. And no, but one thing my major has taught me... it's not always about me. For better or worse.
You're welcome. Oh, it was fine. I went to Soneva Fushi again. You know, the Maldives is always amazing but this year the people there… yikes. Some of them really didn’t get the memo about being beach-ready.
Back in our day, the ‘clean slate’ the football team got looked a lot like a pardon for their misdeeds. But I suppose you’re right about one thing—the times have changed for the better. At least I haven’t heard of any football players being accused of anything scandalous lately.
It'd be sad for me to use the old "gezhundheit" joke for that again, right? Still never been but I've heard good things, and oh no... not exactly the idyllic scenery you were looking for?
That's... not entirely untrue, it's somewhat pardon-like. But yeah, and if nothing else I can definitely say there's nothing scandalous out there surrounding the team. Which in itself kinda feels like a big win.
Sports psychology is a pretty big undertaking. I’ve got to give you major props for that, my standard psychology program almost made my head explode in undergrad a few times. I’m guessing your football background made you interested in it?
Thanks for saying that, I don't know if it's any more difficult than standard psych, I think it's more about focusing on different aspects. Still, the head exploding? I've definitely felt that now and then. Yup, that's definitely what got me on board in the first place. So are you here at PSU for Psychology as well?
It really is. I love that. Healthy goals that push us and drive us are essential or we just tread water. It can be tricky though to keep it healthy and not lose that momentum. For me thats when i need to draw upon things that will give me a refresh or reset to keep going.
It's true, that's a fine line you have to walk to stay on target and follow through. Let me guess, you're the head of PSU's spirit committee, aren't you?
I am indeed a fan. Here's hoping you and coach can lead us to victory, man. What made you want to major in Sports Psychology specifically? That's really interesting. Zach Wilde, by the way! Nice to meet you too.
Hey, thanks man! We're definitely going to give it all we've got... and hopefully that won't just be a cliche, it'll actually be the case. Honestly I had some help with a psychologist myself during my playing career, and it made me want to give back. Great to meet you too Zach. What's brought you to PSU?

Football is my second favorite sport behind basketball and honestly cannot wait until the season starts. There's nothing better than seeing live sports. Except for racing, that stuff is more boring than watching paint dry I'm Alex Leandros, lovely to meet you handsome
I've definitely got to agree with that, there's something about live sports that not much else can compete with. Maybe a really good concert or a movie or something. And basketball's every bit as good as football, you're right. Nice to meet you too Alex, what's brought you to PSU?
I have somehow never managed to run across most of the sports staff and while I'm sure my younger brother might know who you are, I can't say I do, so... pleasure to met you, Finn, I'm Kit, art history professor and recently back after taking a semester off.
Oh yeah? Well it's nice to meet you too Kit. And welcome back then. I'm afraid I'm nowhere close to being knowledgeable at all when it comes to art history... or art at all, actually.
Hi, Finn! I'm Mari, and although I don't know much about football of any kind, I watched a few games when my sister used to cheer in high school. Anyway, it's nice to meet you, I also go to PSU, but I'm currently getting my vet med doctorate. So, what's an offensive coordinator?
Hello Mari, very nice to meet you as well! That's alright, it's not for everybody, if you've seen a few games though then that's pretty cool. Oh wow, that's amazing, working with animals is a great, great thing so I applaud you for that. Well, basically I'm in charge of the team's offense, designing plays and that sort of thing to put them in the best place to score points. Basically a specialized assistant to the head coach.
I feel like all I got out of this is that you're a jock... Interesting. I'm Bonnie.
Well, that's a little reductive but probably fair after how I described myself too. Ex-jock is probably a little more on the nose though. Nice to meet you Bonnie.
I think this is pretty overdue, but here goes. Hey all, I'm Finn Hudson. If you're a fan of the football team here I'm an assistant coach and the offensive coordinator for PSU, and we're all hoping it's a better season coming up. I'm also a Junior, majoring in Sport Psychology. And if you're a fan of mid-level ex-NFL players, I guess I'm your guy too.
So for anybody I've already crossed paths with or met, let's hope for another good year here. And anybody I haven't met before, well it's nice to meet you all now.
You'd think after living in America long enough I'd recognize football as the sport you're talking about and not the sport known as soccer here, and yet... Pleasure to meet you, Finn. Name's Maeve Flynn-Abrams, I'm a computer and electrical engineering professor.
Well hi Maeve, it's nice to meet you. And if you don't mind me asking, where are you from originally? I can see how that'd be a little confusing, soccer's a great sport in its own right though. Wow, that sounds like a pretty heavy subject, how long have you been involved in engineering?

Only sport I really like is hockey but I appreciate the similarities between the two, I guess. Ex NFL star to sports psychologist? How's that goin' for you?
That's absolutely fair, I can appreciate a good hockey game as well. And I think there are a few similarities between the two, the strategy of building your team for instance. It's been eye-opening so far, but I've enjoyed the transition so far.

Mr. Hudson, I don't know much about football, but our team seems pretty skilled at running the call down the field. Which seems to be a rather important component of the game, so kudos to you and your coaching abilities. But don't be so modest, you were a starting quarterback in the NFL, there is nothing mid-level about that.
I believe we briefly met at a game or two last season, but in case you're not as good with names and faces as I am, Dr. Kat Jones, Director of Admissions, however you can call me Kat.
Thank you Dr. Jones, I'd like to think the team's got a very good shot at doing some great things this season. and our practices seem to be proving that so far. We'll do everything we can to bring some honor to PSU's field this year. And thank you, I do appreciate that.
I believe we did too, but it's once again nice to make your acquaintance, Kat. Here's to a great year ahead.
