I don’t know how many more times I am going to mention that, but no, age does not matter. It shouldn’t matter if someone is younger than you and better in drawing, what should matter is you enjoying the process. Not other people, it doesn’t have to do anything with anyone except yourself.

I started drawing in 15, so what? there are many 15 year olds who are better at drawing than I am, so what?

WHY should age even matter? You don’t know how much time those 12 year olds devoted to drawing, what if they draw since they were 7? You don’t know how much effort was put into their work. Even if they have a little more natural flow to it, so what?

Stop comparing yourself to other artists. I know it’s hard to do (okay barely possible not to do it at all), but try to see it as a motivation other than discouregement.

draw for yourself, stop comparing the way you draw with the way another person draws. Your drawings are you, not them. It doesn’t matter if someone is ‘better’, doesn’t matter if someone is ‘worse’. If you’re devoted to your work, then it will lead you into improving it. It’s like your child. You might compare your child to other children, but you should love it no matter what, no matter what grades they have and no matter how many children have their grades better.

You care about your child, that’s it.
