One of my few non-RO related commissions, yay~!
Forgot to post the finished version here, it took me a while to complete this because of my job...
Theyâre the characters/OCs of the guys I went with during the Art Corner Hangouts days.Â
From left to right: nVALKry, Mendics, Helia & Moozika, Mefiliae
In retrospect, I shouldâve added one more character there, but didnât because she already had 2 art requests from me at that time
Yet another tRO commission for my guildmate~
Hereâs SamaraJusticarâs ninja from the âDraw the Character Above Youâ thread on the tRO forums

art tips post
for all the artists following me
draw fast. itâll look messy for a long time but youâll improve faster than if you spend 4 hours on every drawing
if you draw in pencil and have a habit of erasing all of your mistakes, try drawing in pen or marker. i know itâs scary but itâll help in the long run (iâm speaking from experience)
try different methods and mediums but donât worry about mastering any of them, just have fun
if youâre not rich, buy art supplies from the dollar store, not the art store (seriously. i go through a sketchbook about once a month and iâd rather spend $4 on one than $15)
thereâs no wrong way to learn. you can copy other peopleâs art if you want to, just donât post it
DO NOT worry about having a consistent style. do not. just draw however you want
if you want to make original characters then do it. donât worry about if theyâre original, or a good design, or if they have an accompanying story. make sonic ocs. do it. itâs fun and itâs not hurting anyone
try not to kill your back. stand up and stretch once in a while
make a folder and save all of your favorite arts for inspirationÂ
draw from life. draw your dog. draw your teachers. draw your desk. draw your own hands (seriously thatâs the best way to get better at drawing hands)
in general, drawing from life or a photo is better than drawing from a diagram
draw whatever you want. draw youtubers if you like youtubers. draw undertale if you like undertale. when i was a kid i drew nothing but shadow the hedgehog and horses. everyone deserves to draw what they want without being mocked, and if people start making fun of you, block them and keep drawing
donât expect to get any notes at first. donât let it discourage you. if you want validation go show your art to your mom or your friends or your teacher or your grandma
take breaks, but donât give up.
I was checking out a couple of my old drawing folders and I saw this sketch of Alice Margatroid that I drew back when I was working on her fanart.
The lines and shadings are rough and unpolished since I made this only for reference purposes, but it has a certain appeal that isnât present in my polished works. I donât know, I guess Iâm just weird...
PSA for collabs/commissions/hiring artists
Heyo so I recently got contacted by someone about something(?) art related(??) and it was a super confusing experience that I still donât totally understand what they wanted from me so I wanted to lay out some advice for anyone hoping to contact an artist for any sort of project, be it a collaboration, a commission, or whatever. Also, artists, know your rights.
1. Start by introducing yourself and explaining what you do. Donât be vague, give specifics. What are you interested in? What makes what you do different from what other people do? Why should someone want to get involved? What do you want from the artist?
2. Have answers in mind for questions of content/method/scope. Thatâs super important for any collaborative project, especially when pulling other people into it. Tell them exactly what theyâre getting into. What do you want this project to be about? How do you want this project to be achieved? How much time and resources will be spent on this project?
3. Over explaining is better than under explaining. Make your language clear. Write professionally. Do your best to have good grammar. Give artists the same professional courtesy you would give a any other legit business.
4. Ask yourself: What am I getting out of this? What are they getting out of this? Are those two things equal? Generally, collabs mean that both participants are contributing to the work load. Itâs a constructive effort that relies on the contribution of both parties. Asking someone to draw something for you (or your business/blog/channel/whatever) isnât a collaboration, itâs a transaction. What are you offering in return? Some artists are happy to create art for exposure. Many of us create art as our business, and exposure isnât a very reliable currency. If thatâs all you can offer, quantify it. Where will it be featured? How many people will see it? How likely are those people to then support me as an independent artist? Donât be surprised if many artists ask for more tangible compensation.Â
Please, please donât try to shame artists for wanting compensation for our work. âSome people just do it for funâ doesnât make us want to perform free labor, it just makes us feel bad and question the worth of our art. Most of us already draw for fun- thatâs all the stuff you get to see for free on our blogs. We also often have to create art for classes, for other jobs, and for professional portfolios. We donât have time to work for free for someone we donât know. You wouldnât ask an architect to design your house because itâs fun. Please afford us similar courtesy.Â
Some ways to support artists if you canât afford to spend the money:
- Reblogs!! Follows!! Tags!! Even if you canât commission me, one of your followers might!
- Recommend us to your friends/family. Do you know your mom wants a family portrait? Does your friend want a doodle of her dog? Send them our way!
- Encouragement can go a long way. Comment. Send asks. Tell us specifically what you liked about a piece. This makes us more confident and willing to post art on platforms like tumblr and instagram, where youâll get to see it for free!
- Keep an eye out for stolen art, reposts, no credit, etc. Know that it harms artists and makes us less willing to share what we create.
I hope this has been helpful for both artists and people who want to work with artists. Please let me know if thereâs anything Iâve missed!Â
Hereâs a little bit of throwback--I made this back when I was still using an Intuos 4 tablet which is like 8 years ago...
Man, time flies by really fast....
Reblog if you're an artist and we'll reblog your art!
Donât be afraid to say hi! Or if you know an artist, share this with them! Our aim is for artists to find their audience and get their art out there!
Submit your art, get it shared and get inspired by other artists! @artist-promos
Iâm still learning a lot more on art, but I guess Iâm fine with this

Another one of my unfinished work, Iâll work on this again and hopefully itâll be done by the end of this week.
Theyâre the characters/OCs of the guys I went with during the Art Corner Hangouts days... oh the good olâ days...
From left to right: nvalkry, mendics, helia & moozika, mefiliae
While taking a drawing break I went online (TalonRO) and checked some of the costumes available on the Dressing Coach NPC and found these! Theyâre so adorable~ Now, if only I have the zennies to get them...Â
I know Iâm a little bit late posting this... I kinda forgot about it, sorry.
Anyway, one of my guildmates commissioned me to do this art gift. I do hope that they like it.
Finally finished this piece, at last~! Here are some of my alternate characters in tRO
Hereâs another tRO art commission for my high priest guildmate

Tumblr: *rolls out âbest stuff firstâ*
My blog:
on the one hand this is a joke post because lol i have never made a good post in my life, but also, if i hadnât made the connection between this update and my sudden nosedive in activity, i would have been really fucking discouraged about all the shit iâve been working on lately. i guarantee there are people on tumblr right now who havenât made that connection, and who are trying to figure out why suddenly no one likes anything theyâve made. and that fucking sucks.
Reminder to go into your settings and turn off âBest Stuff Firstâ because my activityâs tanked a couple days ago for no reason so this stuff IS happening.
You WILL miss content with that setting on.
i ainât joking when i say that my activity looks JUST like this too and i wasnât sure why
I can only find the option on the app under Settings > Dashboard Preferences.
To support content creators do us a favour and turn off âBest stuff firstâ. Open the tumblr app (Android or iOs) and go to âSettings > Dashboard Preferences. And please reblog this post, so that everybody will see this. Thank you very much!
I assumed I just wasnât writing very well, but maybe itâs not just me.
Am I supposed to pay to get my writing in front of followers now?
We interrupt your regularly-scheduled sci-fi content because this is important for app users, and it sucks. We all follow blogs because we want to see their content, not to have a crappy algorithm decide whatâs best.
This blog is down approximately 80%, which doesnât affect me other than as an annoyance (as this is a hobby and @okayto is small-ish) but the issue undoubtedly hurts others.
Below are instructions for turning it off. You have to do it individuallyâit doesnât matter if a blog you follow turns it off, youâll still be affected unless you do the same.
We donât normally reblog PSAs, but this is very clearly affecting us, too! If you havenât been getting your daily dose of RPG humor, this setting is probably why. Turn it off so you can see all the silly shit players say!

EDIT: Just email me for more info! (Or DM me on Twitter) Iâll send you a form and answer any questions you may have: Griffnix ( at ) gmail.com
Reblogs very appreciated!
Updated my commissions page a little with more recent pieces! I can do black&white options too if people would like a cheaper option.
