there’s a reason why whenever black people talk about racism, white supremacy, white privilege, white ignorance, white inaction and etc, white people overall lose their shit. the reason is because white people have built their entire sense of self on whiteness which is built on lies and oppression. to be pro-black is to be anti-white. as long as white people define themselves in any way shape or form with whiteness as a social construct, pro-blackness will ALWAYS be ANTI-WHITE. always. 

and bullshit like this just makes wonder why? is still about being in white people’s good graces? why? after EVERYTHING white people have done and continue to do to black people, why the flying fuck do you care of your pro-blackness is anti-white? this is some fuckery to still care what your slavemaster still thinks about you and your movement to gain your freedom. reminds me again of what stokely carmichael said “black power can be clearly defined for those who do not attach the fears of white america to their questions about it.“ 

you think such nonsensical thinking is going to stop white oppression? white people see racism as a zero sum game! and millennials? millennials are just as racist as their parents! 

as someone with hiring power, i go out of my way to look for black people to hire because i know that my hr department filled with WHITE PEOPLE aren’t going to give tyrone, laquisha, malik, kenyatta or kiesha a fucking chance no matter how talented they are. why? because white people have been programmed by whiteness to see black people as inferior. to fight against that will bring head on with white people and whiteness.

however let’s be real. there’s no changing a group of people who can’t even admit that enjoy privilege in this society, can never admit or do right by natives, made a holiday celebrating a man who discovered nothing but killed and enslaved thousands (if not millions), etched into the side of a mountain racists and slave owners, turned “monday” into a slur, responds to any highlighting of their own criminality with “what about black on black crime tho?,” and made it a point to silence black people responding to a history of brutal racist policing with “all lives matter.” hell white people are powering the push the presidency of a man who has been so over the top with his racism, it feels like a throwback to the 60s and 70s when white people running for office would say shit like “elect me and i’ll make sure no nigger…” so no, this post isn’t for white people. i expect them to come up with all types of excuses. truth is not a part of their culture. it’s for black people to wake up and stop worrying about white people and whether or not they think the black movement for our liberation is “anti-white.” fuck’em. we owe them NOTHING. and guess what, it’s going to get anti-white because nothing about whiteness respects blackness. so stop trying to please them.

Midsummer, falling on the 21st June 2022, is the longest day and the shortest night of the year. The Goddess is now full and pregnant with Child, and the Sun God is at the height of His virility.

This is the peak of the Solar year and the Sun is at the height of its life-giving power. The Earth is awash with fertility and fulfillment and this is a time of joy and celebration, of expansiveness and the celebration of achievements.

Yet within this climax is the whisper and promise of a return to the Dark. As the Light reaches its peak so this is also the moment when the power of the Sun begins to wane. From now on the days grow shorter and the nights grow longer and we are drawn back into the Dark to complete the Wheel of the Year.

At this time the God, as Oak King, is rich in abundance, but he too surrenders his reign to his brother twin, the Holly King, and the descent begins.

But before we welcome the return to the Dark side of the year, and acknowledge this great turning point of the Wheel, we celebrate!

In my book of shadows, I have this written down as the 'Cheerful Cappuccino.' I used to drink this every morning - it's a lovely treat, and I always have a wonderful day after drinking it!

Not only are its correspondences positive, it tastes good too, and was the first piece of witchery I ever crafted (so is great for beginners!)

You will need:

🌙 A cup and a spoon 🌙 Coffee (for dispelling of negativity - I use coffee pods, but instant also works) 🌙 About 170ml of cashew milk (for increased energy) - other milks work too but I prefer cashew. 🌙 A pinch of sea salt (for protection) 🌙 A pinch of powdered cinnamon (for success) 🌙 Vanilla extract (for love, either romantic or of the self; measure that shit with your heart (though I put about a cap full)) 🌙 Sugar, to taste (for joy) or sweeteners like plain erythritol. 🌙 Dusting of hot chocolate mix (for love and comfort, optional)

1 - Get the cup. 2 - Put the coffee in. About 175 ml of liquid - how much powder or whatever you use depends on how you like it. 3 - Then add the salt - just a pinch. It removes the bitterness of the coffee with a side-order of protection. I use Himalayan pink salt as it's what I have. 4 - Add the cinnamon, sugar and vanilla. Speak your intentions ("I am protected, I am successful, I am happy, I am loved" works for me.) 5 - Add the milk. 6 - Stir clockwise, and microwave after if the milk made it cold.

Add the hot chocolate mix after stirring if you like, but this step is optional - I just love chocolate. This recipe can also be without the coffee if you want, with decaf, etc. and you can switch out ingredients if you'd prefer a different taste or correspondence.

When it comes to spellwork, energy work, manifestations, and just witchcraft in general,

Giving is a very important part of the process. In the universe, you cannot expect to receive something without giving back. When you plant a seed you give it time and care and In return it gives you harvest. You care for a cow and it gives you milk. Certain things require more work/care than others, different plants need more care than others, some cakes take more ingredients and money to make. It's the same with magick.

Giving Energy

Energy is one of the most common gives of a beginner and even advanced witch. Whether it be from crystals, moon/sun water, the self, or a kind plant (ie. burning a bay leaf), energy can be given quickly and with low effort, making it great for spells/manifestations/etc requiring less charge to work. Although, unless you want to leave your whole body thoroughly drained, it's not recommended to use energy alone for a bigger spell, or bigger ask.

Offerings 🎁✨♡☆

You don't have to worship a deity to leave offerings! You can simply offer it up to the universe, mother nature, animals, or something that relates to the work you're doing. The item should have value to you, or have taken effort and work to create. A few examples would be:

Leave milk and honey on your altar or pour it into the soil

Leave bird seed/food for birds 🐦

Throw native flower seeds In sparse areas for the bees 🐝

If you garden, offer your first and last harvest

Lighting candles

Throw things into fire (herbs, grains, flowers)

Incense

Compost

Actions of service (healing rituals for earth, rituals for worship, etc.)

Designating a seed/baby plant for a specific spell and caring for it long term

Caring for yourself and stick to it, acknowledge and appreciate the gift that is your body

Sex

If doing work for deity, research some common offerings or things they enjoy, as they have rather specific tastes and not everything can be an offering for them. (You could accidentally offend them)

Sacrifice💌🙇🏽‍♀️

Okay before you freak out thinking we're gonna harm someone or something, realize that's not the only kind of sacrifice you can make. It means giving up something you absolutely cherish and really wouldn't casually let go.. It's definitely great for charging up powerful spells. A few forms of sacrifice are:

Donating your favorite clothes to a woman/mens shelter

Giving away prized positions

Selling important items, like beautiful crystals or jewelery

Giving away half your food to those who need it

Giving up technology or 1st world luxuries for a week or amount of time you choose

Giving up bad habits

Cutting off bad friends/sources of bad energy

Giving away extra of anything, only Keeping what you need

Giving up negative attitudes towards people

A few more (extreme) sacrifices that could be unhealthy to a certain extent and you should be cautious of:

Emotions such as happiness, anger, sadness, gratitude, etc.

Life Energy

State of health physical or mental

Life necessities

Time

Relationships

Responsibilities

Commitments

Things to beware of

Always always always make sure you know what you are offering or sacrificing, because sometimes you can give up something you didn't mean to give away...

Try to make sure you aren't giving up too much or too little, as it might have an impact in your craft. Try to weigh the value of what you wish the outcome to be, and offer something of the same value.

 In Ye Olde Medieval Fantasy Dayes, everybody’s layer against skin (shirt tunic or shift) is gonna be linen. it’s almost never wool except stockings or hose (like pant legs). Say “undyed cloth” if you wanna make them sound simple and peasanty. Comment on how you can tell it wasn’t made for them (the fit is off) and has had probably eight owners before. 

Outer clothing is gonna be either wool, or a blend called Linsey-woolsey, and again you could say Undyed, but dyes are not only common they are CHEAP and relatively easy. (innerwear is often left undyed or bleached to white because it gets washed to heck- like beaten by a wooden stick on a stone by the river- and dye would just fade out a lot so why bother. Ths is also why innerwear has ties, rarely buttons, unless you are so rich you have people doing your washing delicately because they’re hired to do only that. Buttons would get broken in the washing)

Example medieval dye colors. Lots of yellows and orangey-browns. Woad gave a range of blues that are basically what we think of as “denim colors.” There were purples - royal purple was a specific color from a specific source - but if you mix wine-dye and woad-dye, you get purpleish dye. (Getting the color to stay that way may be more difficult. Everything worn by peasants fades; they couldn’t afford the really good fixatives.)

Peasant clothes were often more colorful than the nobility. Nobles could afford bright, clear colors that peasants couldn’t - but one mark of wealth was being able to buy all 4-8 yards of fabric for an outfit at the same time. So nobles would have a full outfit, including hat, stockings, even shoes, of one type of fabric (with ornamentation of a contrasting type, and as many buttons or bits of silver as they could get away with wearing), while peasants would often have a shirt, bodice or jerkin, skirt or pants, stockings, and hat of all different colors.
