Eris heard the response and laughed a little, lowering her arms as a way to let him know he can lower his hands. “Me neither. Why are you out so late? Swimming in this cold water?” She made a run for the water, jumping in right next to Elliot so it splashed him. Swimming to the surface, she gasped loudly, shivering at how cold the water was, something she knew before she jumped in. “How are you not freezing?” Eris laughed a little. Her tolerance for cold had always been low, which was unfortunate considering she grew up in Seattle. But she figured her body may have changed; it did not.
elliot placed his hand back into the water, once again helping to keep him afloat. the water was actually already beginning to feel warmer than the air. “i couldn’t sit still. i figured swimming might tire me out or something,” he answered with a small shrug. his face then scrunched up when the water hit him, though he still smiled. if he were wearing his glasses, that really would have pissed him off. luckily, he wasn’t, because he figured they would get wet somehow - i mean, surrounded by water, how could they stay completely dry? elliot chuckled as well. “eh, you get used to it after a second.” he paused before deciding to continue, “so what brings you out here into this freezing lake so late?”
