SOCIAL MEDIA HAS MADE MOST US INTO SUPERFICIAL BEINGS. AS WE POST OR SHARE THINGS ONLINE, SHOWING ONLY OUR âPERFECTâ IMAGE AND âWONDERFUL LIFESTYLEâ, IT BECOMES A TRAP AS IT DIVERTS US FROM REALITY. IT SEEMS RIDICULOUS AND âSUPERFICIALâ YET MOST OF US STILL DO IT, INCLUDING ME.
THEREFORE I WANT TO MAKE A BOOK THAT SHOWS THE IRONIC SIDE OF SOCIAL MEDIA. AS WE HATE IT YET CANâT LIVE WITHOUT IT.

This made me realise how ironic yet humorous things we do and say on social media can be. As we know the âsecretsâ to create a âperfectâ social media cover, yet we still apply and sometime even falling for our own tricks.

A book about the irony of social media based on the people around me. wow.
How to exhibit a book with full of text for architects?
arch&edu - exhibition denied to show any images and colours that may force the visually overqualified visitors (architects) to focus on texts.Â
Exhibiting a book while providing visitors a free source of knowledge while the bookshop of the exhibition space sells the book itself?
They decided to challenge this idea by showing the full process of the year-long research and dividing the exhibition hall into two parts: input (books & videos) and output (recorded lectures/discussions and texts). To keep all the images out of the hall, all the books have got a uniformed imageless, black&white cover, and on the opposite wall they printed and posted all data of the articles (number, author, title, abstract, key words, sources) without images, colours and just the texts themselves.Â
Visitors who got interested in any articles can grab a copy of the full text from the cloud which fills the middle of the room (based on the number of the text) or buy the book in the bookshop beside the exhibition hall.Â

âGEO GOO' by Jodi appropriates Google Maps a a canvas for an artistic intervention that, like many of their other works, challenges conventional expectations of a familiar interface.Â
The artist duo accomplish this by introducing randomness and apparent chaos, by subverting code and subtracting meaning. Maps of the entire globe, of regions, seas and mountain ranges, and even of the moon and the starry sky, all 'powered by Google', are superimposed with a growing database of crazy and intricate mathematical patterns.Â
The shapes are drawn with the default markers, placeholders and paths that are available to users, allowing anyone to annotate and personalise their own Google Maps.Â
I this is fascinating to observe the different patterns emerge and the surface go berserk, sliding around in a wild and unpredictable way as âGEO GOOâ investigate hidden codes, patterns and messages in our digital systems.

Sometime surfing the internet makes me more confuse as I already am. I find myself having a clearer idea before I started surfing the internet, as I surf the internet I often find myself wandering into the random parts of the internet.
Having that thought in mind, I decided to try creating a book that would portray my feeling âconfuse and dizzinessâ. This prototype book, unfolds itself it twists and turns, revealing all the unnecessary and random things we can find on the internet. As it finish revealing, it shows the contents in it are somehow connected to each other, mimicking the âinternetâ.
A book I like and think is a good design.
This book on food design caught my attention in the library for its cover texture and the bite mark on the corner of the book. I think this a good book with good design as me hungry not just for the designs related to the food but also for good food. The right ratio of text to images and interesting layout found in this book keeps readers engaged and wanting for more.
