I haven't actually watched the episode myself yet, but I've read enough live blogs and messages from friends to know what happened.
1. tptb really couldn't think of any other way to send off Megan? To "end" Liz's arc? A way that would allow room for Megan to make guest appearances every now and then? A way that would allow character/plot development to happen at least behind the scenes were Megan not inclined to return at all?
2. What the fuck is left of the show at this point? They've burned the premise down along with Masha's house apparently. It's not an exaggeration to say that The Blacklist - the show that we came to love - does NOT work without Liz, and it's unrecognizable with her dead.
Liz was the female lead, yes, but imo she was also the true protagonist. We got Red because we had Elizabeth. The entire show was driven by HER and her journey, her quest for answers, her dream of a normal life with the people she loves.
And as mentioned earlier, Red entered the scene because of Elizabeth. She was his life, his heart, and she was his life mission. To protect her, keep her safe, make her happy and feel loved was literally his only goal in life. He was willing to die - multiple times - and sacrifice his life in exchange for her safety. All of the mystery and secrets were "for her safety."
What the fuck left is there to do without Elizabeth Keen? What is there that will stop Red from killing himself now? Really? What is there left to live for? And what does the audience - whoever decides to remain for whatever fucking reason - have left? Does anyone really care who the fuck Red is at this point? I, for one, stopped caring about 7 years ago. But now there is really just. no. point.
3. I don't even need to say anything further about Red's utter devastation and broken heart. We all know already. But you know what? I even feel sorry for Ressler. It doesn't matter that I didn't see any romantic love or chemistry between them. Ressler was in love with her - one-sided, but still - and he lost her. The first woman he fell in love with after Audrey died, too. He lost the two loves of his life.
4. Agnes is now an orphan now? (Yes, I'm an Agnesgate supporter to my grave, but considering this is tptb we're talking about... she's an orphan.) What the fuck is wrong with them? What the fuck was the point of even bringing her in then? If this was how they were going to treat Agnes, they should have just put her up for adoption when she was a baby like Liz initially wanted.
5. I'm not even going to talk about the alleged Redarina baiting because imo there's nothing to talk about. I won't give that hell theory another second of my time. It doesn't deserve any attention.
6. Liz deserved better. Red deserved better. Every character on the show who ever cared about Liz deserved better. WE, as a loyal audience, deserved better.
7. I'm still in disbelief. This is the one ending I truly did not expect, simply because of how stupid I thought - and still think - it was. It's a fucking slap in the face to all of us.
I actually didn't cry when I heard the news of Megan leaving, but learning that she died - really this time - did make me cry. And I'm not embarrassed to admit that. I'm truly gutted. I'm pretty sure I'm never going to just get over this. Not when this is how they decided to end it.
8. I've said it before and I'll say it again:
We make our own canon. That scene where they're holding hands in the park? Yeah, that's our canon ending.
9. Sidenote: They had fucking Van Dyke kill Liz. Are you fucking kidding me? This random guy who was an employee of Townsend? He was that loyal to the fucker that he just had to go out of his way to kill Liz, despite the fact that he knew Red would kill him for it? Really? That was the best idea they had to kill Liz?
