People used to comment on web comics.

Once someone tagged art that I made with "woah" and I think about it at least once a week. Someone else said "oh neat" once. Someone else WROTE A WHOLE DAMN POEM IN THE COMMENTS. Anyways even just one word can change how someone sees their art. You don't even have to think about it too hard. You could put a keyboard smash and I'd probably cry from joy.

Every tag, every comment, every reblog with some kind of reaction/opinion or even just one word. All of these things are precious to creators!

I find it really off-putting when I see videos where a father treats his daughter’s boyfriend like an enemy after she starts dating.To me, it feels creepy and comes from a very patriarchal perspective.What makes it worse is that the same type of father will often react to his son getting a girlfriend with, “Wow, son, good job!”The underlying message here is that women are treated as a kind of resource: a daughter getting married means that resource is being taken away, while a son getting a girlfriend means successfully competing for that resource.
