disabled & neurodivergent vegan taste tests vegan cheese. not sponsored. very honest. honestly, my brain just needed a break from the fuckery of the world & my usual vegan cheese changed recipes so I had to find a new one. so I documented my quest (lately, I've been thinking about how #veganism is often portrayed as this very able bodied thing. meanwhile I'm vegan but I'm also #disabled AF #represent & my health is meh. (and no, it's not because I'm vegan before someone asks) & so I wanted to explore that)

a short but chatty video where I talk about being neurodivergent & thus sometimes I'm sensitive to light. wearing sunglasses helps, but I've found as I start to go out again (now that I have the wheelchair), that this can be misunderstood. VIDEO: Knowing your disabled body and what it needs is a game changer. Here are 4 little hacks & accommodations that I use to make things easier. the only difference between the two photos is 2nd one has a yellow semi-transparent scarf with thin fabric that's dangling from two back hooks on the chair. you still see the orange T-shirt and dangling rhinestones but the ends of the T-shirt (a bit edgier) are now more covered up by the yellow scarf that has a bit of fringes]

hello! it’s been awhile since I posted here. hope everyone has been able to stay safe in these weird times So, I haven’t made any new youtube videos. For awhile, I felt really inspired by TkTok because creating really short videos, was just my speed in terms of spoons. I was (and possibly) still am recovering from thryoidriis  and getting covid a second time (0 stars). But it was also nice because with the youtube channel, it was pretty much just disability content. Nothing wrong with that. Love that. But there’s times as a disabled person who is recovering medically (as well as emotionally) from having some heavy medical trauma, you aren’t always in the mood to talk about disability. And that’s okay. It’s good to honor that. So, the content that I made on TikTok is a variety of topics. Ableism, self care, veganism, and just sometimes just silly videos. If you like, you can view them here, and if not that’s fine too. And then as I began to regain the ability to use the mouse again (yeah, shit got weird), I started making collages which was great creative, cognitive and physical therapy. I posted those in the blog, as well as a new poem and short story. Some (?) may notice that all the struggle diaries posts are gone. I just didn’t want to be reminded of them so I deleted them BUT I am hoping to write on article that sums up everything I learned from that time - and still learning . So, where things are headed in terms of creativity, time will tell but I did want to say hi to anyone who reads these blogs and sending ya much goodness on his day and beyond p.s. Oh! almost forgot but I also for awhile did a photo series.  I needed to get stronger in order to sit up in a wheelchair, so I thought fuck it . why not do physical therapy that also feeds your soul? and because it was during the pandemic, they’re of me in various costumes. Which was weird as I prefer being behind the camera, but it’s good to step out of your comfort zone sometimes, but also thus the costumes lol. I’ll post those as spoons allow.

(Author’s Note: While I thoroughly appreciate Hozier’s musical and activist related existence, there’s always been this one song that I could never fully enjoy. Musically, ‘In The Woods Somewhere’ is lovely. I can also appreciate that the lyrics are, if what I read on the internet was accurate, was inspired by Dante’s Inferno. It’s just the fox. I get too emotionally attached to the fox. And so one night, while a bit under the weather, my brain started thinking about the song and thought “That fox had a really shitty day.” My brain proceeded to create a whole backstory, as my brain tends to do. And while at first, it seemed too silly to let it be more than just a random thought in my head, the week was a weird one, so I thought fuck it and made it into a short story.
