When I was younger and in elementary and middle school I often rode the bus. I lived on the outskirts of a small rural town and was one of last off and first on. Being a child to whom time always seems exponentially longer than it actually is, bus rides always felt like an eternity. An eternity during which I had nothing to occupy my time. So I took to staring out the window and thinking. It might sound strange or silly but it’s true. I would sit and think about a myriad of random topics. Being an extraordinarily curious child, my mind was plagued by many mysteries I was, at that time, unable to solve. Many questions floated around in my brain especially those psychologically related. Why are some flowers red and others yellow? Why do boys always seem to lose their tempers so quickly when they perceive that they have been insulted or made fun of? Why do girls gossip so much? Why do girls feel the need to criticize themselves and each other? Sometimes I would even ponder life and the purpose of it all. I would often wonder: what is the point of everything? Maybe I’m an odd one but even today I often sit and ponder the big issues and mysteries of the world and life in general. More important and complex now, my musings are usually about why people snap and going on killing sprees, why people are so afraid and angry at what they do not know. Why is the unknown so terrifying and terrible to people? What is right and what is wrong? Why are people so obsessed with controlling the lives of those around them? These are the types of questions I will be mulling over in this blog. It will become a place for me to deposit my contemplations and present them to the public for outside and, hopefully, different perspectives.
