High street products for dark circles
Now my last post was about home remedies for dark circles under your eyes, this one is a list of the top 10 high street products that myself and others have rated very high and are very popular at the moment.
1. No7 Protect & Perfect Intense advanced serum
8 years ago No7 Protect & Perfect Serum became known for really working and is the UK’s first serum clinically proven to deliver anti-wrinkle results that get even better over time. It has;
Matrixyl 3000 Plus™* – the star technology for helping to restore a more youthful appearance to your skin.
Hyaluronic acid – for added firmness.
Patented antioxidant complex – to protect the skin against environmental stress.
Rice peptide and alfalfa complex – helps to preserve levels of collagen and fibrillin in the skin.
My mum uses this serum and has found that it does visibly work.
2. La Roche-Posay pigmentclar eyes
Pigmentclar Eyes targets dullness in the eye zone, using the Pigmentclar complex combined with caffeine invigorating the look of the eye area.
The melt-in texture is enriched with light-reflecting pigments to illuminate the eye area, and the tapered metal applicator is cooling on the skin.
Benefits: shown to improve the look of the eye contour. It looks smoother, more uniform and feels more comfortable.
Suitable for sensitive eyes. No parabens. No perfume.
La Roche-Posay follows strict formulations standards:
- Hypoallergenic skincare
- Optimal concentration of selected ingredients with Thermal Spring Water
3.Time Bomb smart balm eye cream
Smart Balm keeps skin around your eyes moist and resilient, smoothing the look of lines and preventing development of new ones while reducing puffiness and dark circles.
4. Botanics triple age renewal eye cream
Developed with Kew Gardens, this serum claims to reduce deep lines, wrinkles and dark circles in 4 weeks. It is particularly good at reducing morning puffiness if you've been out late the night before and also really reduces the look of dark circles - I found I could go without concealer after a while.
5. Loréal Revitalift laser renew precision eye cream
This isn't a laser treatment but says it will give you intense action and target wrinkles, skin firmness and skin texture leaving your skin feeling smoother, plumper and looking more even. Advanced anti-ageing care for visible results in 4 weeks.
Revitalift Laser Renew contains a naturally-derived glycan (or complex sugar)-Pro-Xylane, which has been proven in a 6 month study to reduce the appearance of crow’s feet wrinkles, boost skin density and improve bounce.
6. Simple Kind to Eyes Soothing Eye Balm
This excellent budget eye cream is ideal for sensitive complexions. Vitamins B and E, jojoba oil and shea butter pack a powerful punch when it comes to soothing and calming tired eyes and reducing puffiness. I used this one evening after writing far too late into the night and getting eye strain from the laptop – it completely helped relax and soothe my tired eyes. And it won't break the bank!
7. Liz Earle Superskin Eye & Lip Treatment
Designed for more mature skin, this intensive creamy gel can be used around the lip area as well as the eyes to plump out fine lines, smooth and firm complexions losing their elasticity and reduce the appearance of further wrinkles. Packed with anti-oxidants, powerful botanicals and omega 3, like all Liz Earle products it uses hard-working natural ingredients to deliver results.
8. This Works Perfect Eyes Recovery Cream
Ex-Vogue Beauty Director Kathy Phillips set up This Works 10 years ago and the range is packed with results-driven products – she's tried enough beauty ranges in her career to know exactly what does and doesn't work. Aloe vera, cucumber, arnica and marine extracts combine to create a soothing, reviving treat to rescue tired eyes. Up late at night, too much screen time, or even puffy from crying, this will de-puff and brighten.
Brand new from Benefit is the Puff Off eye gel. Promising to instantly soothe inflamed and sore eyes, this cooling gel certainly does go some way to reducing the look of wrinkles and fine lines around the eye area. 'Iron on' with the handy applicator for a blurring, softening effect.
10. Clinique All about eyes
As with most eye creams, the Clinique All About Eyes version reduces puffiness, dark circles and wrinkles - but the best part is that it also works as a primer, helping to keep make-up in place all day long.
