Celebrated one year of being gross old married people with this dude yesterday. This was the only picture we managed to snap last night, and it's a blur...much like the past year has been. 

We spent a large portion of today unclogging a drain in the laundry sink and cleaning up the basement in the aftermath of one unnamed fat orange cat with a UTI who decided anything soft and fabric-y was a better place to potty than a litterbox. After that we went and spent a stupid amount of money at the pet store buying fancy healthy kitty food and enzyme cleaners and a variety of other odds and ends that the internet promised would fix this situation (after already having spent a stupid amount of money on a trip the emergency vet and cat meds).

We took the long way home and ended up finding an observation area next to the airport, where we sat in comfortable silence and watched planes take off and land in the late afternoon sun. 

It's nice to get dressed up and go to fancy restaurants and celebrate in all the traditional ways...but it's days like today that really confirm I married the exact right dude for me.

Friday night was for putt putt with friends and feeling like I was back in high school as we laughed and sang and snuck drinks out of tiny bottles of booze.

Saturday was for exploring our new city, going to a huge "curated urban flea market" (aka hipster central), eating gelato in the sunshine at Findlay Market, and an afternoon nap before heading out to meet friends for drinks on the river. 

Sunday was for sleeping in unnecessarily late, meal planning, grocery shopping, house cleaning, and banana bread baking.

The past few days included bug bites and a little sunburn and a killer fireworks show and a fridge full of fresh produce, which I think is all you could ever want from a late-August weekend.
