there really are so many novels about divorce and specifically short story collections. dont get me wrong there are novels about other things too ive read them but god damn the amount of times ive picked up a book of short stories and every single one of them is an apolitical meandering snoozefest about a woman who feels too intelligent for her good-natured but airheaded husband is a little surprising. good for women in male-dominated fields i guess but it is disappointing from time to time
