I live with #schizophrenia. Currently I have a home, food, and warmth. I take medication as well. CBD from Trek also makes me feel better. Currently I'm thinking about getting a job in a coffee shop where other disabled people work, but I would also like to see if I could make money from this blog (but I don't have the mental capacity to do it at the moment.

An Ode to Cigarettes

My precious savior of mine, you are always with me. You protect my body from being bruised. You give a giggle to those who see you as I exercise with you hanging out of my mouth. I walk with you, I talk with you, I jog. Oh, dear God of mine, blessings find these lungs of mine.

Inhale.

Exhale.

You are the breathalyzer I take wherever I go. You are the friend that always shows up. You are the one thing I can count on in the deep. The recesses of my mind find plenty of you inside my body for me to draw on. You are the smell that detours people away from me.

You are plentiful. When I am afraid, when I have hope, when I feel dope, I can count on you to coax me to deliverance. Deliverance to memories, deliverance to hope, deliverance towards jokes that make me safe enough to laugh. Where others drink their wine to drunkenness, you bring me home to myself.

Thank you for always being there for me. You are my inhaler. In and out my breath draws away doubt, fear, anxiety never near I am at peace here.

Evil doesn't sleep, it waits.
