but anyways, to this day, i have never understood one thing. why did tomonori betray shiki in gentoka's route? it didn't make sense. he has very clearly stated in his route and akifusa's, that his life long wish has always been to find a way to destroy the sword and free shiki from her fate. if it was already at the point where the seal was broken and the sword stolen by the demon, why would he reveal a way to reseal it? because, if he wouldnt, the world would end? he clearly states so many times in akifusa's route and his own that he literally doesnt give a damn about the world ending or kifu itself. in fact, he even hated everything because fate was very cruel to them. i just dont get it. it saddens me greatly that akifusa died and tomonori left kifu. why is that the canon route? as much as i love gentoka, he doesnt have much chemistry with shiki. kuuso, or aterui suit her soooo much better. even akifusa.

it just felt anticlimactic. just like how for some very weird reason it was revealed in gentoka's route that shiki in fact did not kill her mother. her mother k-lled herself? seriously? why build the entire story up around embracing your sin and living with it after years of agony, only to find out that it didn't even happen? that made zero sense. gentoka's route has many plot holes. i cant believe kuuso's isnt canon. he has the best written route. ahh well, sorry for rambling on. i just wanted to know what your take on this is ><

Hi! I am so happy to see more and more people loving SF! I’ll explain how I see it. Tomonori didn’t betray Shiki; he fulfilled the duty his family had carried for generations—the only path left once he realized he could no longer save her. It’s one thing to fight her fate; it’s another when Shiki has already been reduced to Sadashige’s puppet, used as expendable and then discarded. Tomonori isn’t a zealot who doesn’t care about the world—a world Shiki herself loves and protects, the very reason she endured that fate. When there’s no real hope your friend will survive and the fate of the world sits in your hands, the choice is stark. Tomonori is human, not a fanatic—and at that point he wasn’t under the Sword’s control. No one in their right mind would simply let the world end.

There are two CGs from Seasons of Love that I've been trying to hunt down for a while (haven't had the chance to download your port on my laptop yet, will probably do that eventually but still). They're both from Akifusa's summer route.

The first one is of Akifusa with his boyfriend (Tomonori) right after Tomo asks Shiki which of them she'd rather marry, and Tomonori's smiling and Akifusa is all flustered. I have plans for that picture >:)

The second is from later in the story, when the Kifu OT3 (Tomo, Aki, and Shiki) are all hanging out drinking sake the night before the festival-- and, again, Tomo is smiling and Akifusa is all flustered.

Also also, I don't know if this applies, but if you happen to have any other artwork of the three of them together, Tomo + Shiki, or Tomo + Aki, I'll take anything you've got, official or unofficial. (Yes, the only pair I don't really care about so much is Shiki + Aki, lol)

And following his lead, more trouble and complications enter the life of the priestess.

The 4th installment brings gamers into the glamorous and decadent Heian period in this bittersweet love story.

I would have never followed this project to its logical end if not for these 3 points:

1) The main heroine, who outdoes lots of otome MCs. I’ve never seen such a marvelous combination of beauty, intelligence, decisiveness, and kindness. She always keeps her cool, makes rational decisions and, most importantly, fights for her happiness. Shiki isn’t some Holy Mary – she is ready to kill in the name of everything she holds dear. She’s neither an ice queen, who never cares about the people around her, nor a damsel in distress, who expects to be rescued by some knight in shining armor.

2) The plot, filled with drama and twists. Based on Japanese folklore and history, the game has many fights, intrigues, betrayals, and deaths. This VN has a very depressive mood.  There are dark themes, war, murder, betrayal, crimes. For the soul of each characters lies the sin of varying severity.

3) Thanks to Liz, artist, Shiki Ugaya now has her own sprite in the game. Capturing Shiki’s very soul, she created various facial expressions that fully convey Tamayorihime’s personality.

Major advantages of the PC version over the PSP version:

1) While the PSP version doesn’t have the heroine’s – Shiki’s – sprite at all, in the PC version, Shiki’s sprite has its own place on the screen. This became possible thanks to two talented artists: Aanu was responsible for Shiki’s face and gave her 72 different heartfelt expressions; Aigul created Shiki’s poses and different physical states, as well as designed all of her stunning clothes.

2) Aigul created sprites for Shiki’s mother, young Akifusa, young Shiki, young Tomonori, and designed different visual elements for other characters.

3) The PC version has a custom design of all gameplay elements – from the user interface to side frames.

Some bugs:

0) The game is now in open beta testing, but stable performance of all its routes is confirmed. 1) Sometimes the game can just up and freeze on you without a reason, reboot helps. ヽ(。_゜)ノ 2) Opening settings on an animated background is not recommended. 3) Too much skipping can result in a crash. Consider saving data every time you get a choice option. 4) The game can sometimes prevent you from creating a new save slot and only allow saving data in an occupied slot, forcing you to rewrite existing save data. I didn’t manage to reproduce the problem, but try to avoid saving in the middle of the action on the main screen and when the ‘skip’ button is pressed (regardless of the route).

The Seasons of Love game seems to work fine when I run the .exe file, but I'm not sure what to do with the original game. I extracted the three parts from Drive, but I'm not sure where to go from there. Forgive me if I'm being dense and missing something obvious, but how do I get the first game to run? 😅
