thinking about how powerless eddie must have felt when buck says "i think it would have been better for him if i was the one who got shot" because he's clearly too tired to stay awake for much longer but there's that little confused frown on his face bc he doesn't understand how buck can think of himself like that, how buck can think so little of himself but he can't find the energy to say anything, everything he needs to say. do u think eddie's last thought before sleep took him again was about how he couldn't make buck feel better? do u think when he wakes up the next time the first thing he thinks about is how to make buck know he's worth something? do u think he spends the next however many days of bed rest composing and rehearsing that speech because he's never been good with words but these words are so vitally important?
