Eye strain is a serious issue for artists; digital, painter, sculptor -- it's imoprtant to take care of what takes care of you. A good rule of thumb is for every 20 minutes to look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds (20-20-20) -- though, more frequent and longer eye breaks will always be more beneficial than nothing.
Whether painting, drawing, designing, or illustrating, an artist's hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders are some of their biggest tools. So, why neglect the health of what keeps us in work?
Remember to stretch before, during, and after work. Stretches including the thumb stretch, the stop stretch, the prayer stretch, and the interlaced fingers stretch can help keep us limber and safe while creating to our hearts content.
