but in my experience 95% of my hallucinations are getting spooked by very clearly hearing someone knocking on my door or calling my name from another room or hearing footsteps walking behind me which are "just" my brain recreating the horror of an abusive childhood

media and pop culture hypes up psychosis a lot as The Worst That Can Happen out of sanism, so even when you try and filter that cultural bias out you still assume it's based on something

when, no, psychosis is actually very simple: it's just hyperactive pattern matching. it's your brain's signal-to-noise ratio being off balance, it's seeing images in random static. it's not always this special uniquely big thing, it's in fact quite mundane a lot of the time.

no one is immune to psychosis, it's not purely the realm of the insane. anyone is one bad night of sleep or one bad case of food poisoning or one bad fever away from being just like me on my worst days.

This image shows two of Jupiter's large rotating storms, captured by Juno's visible-light imager, JunoCam, passing over the planet on Juno's 38th orbit, on Nov. 29, 2021. This image was acquired at 50 degrees 5 minutes north latitude, at an altitude of 3,815 miles (6,140 kilometers). Atmospheric details as small as 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) can be discerned in the image. Bright "pop-up" clouds are visible above the lower storm, casting shadows on the cloud bank below. Although the pop-up clouds appear small in comparison to the large storm below, such clouds are typically 31 miles (50 kilometers) across. Citizen scientist Kevin M. Gill processed the image to enhance the color and contrast, using raw JunoCam data.

NASA's Juno spacecraft was a little more than one Earth diameter from Jupiter when it captured this mind-bending, color-enhanced view of the planet's tumultuous atmosphere.

Citizen scientists Gerald Eichstädt and Seán Doran processed this image using data from the JunoCam imager.

If I remember right these are on 16 count aida in an oatmeal color. They look friggin AWESOME on this color. The bonfire looks incredible, the colors really pop! 🤩

I did them on 16 count so they'd just barely fit in these specific oval faux wood frames for the ultimate aesthetic

The hoops are super tight, which made it a challenge to get the fabric in there centered and not too stretched out that the border around the design doesn't bow out too noticeably. They look amazing and I'm proud of how they came out.
