Kansas City has a visitor: a brown booby!
He's been hanging out for a few days now, looking like he's not quite sure how he got here but enjoying the attention of all the birders coming to see him.
My husband and I went to see him last night and got some great pictures.

I've been working on this Tipping Point series for a couple months now, and if anyone can offer some insight/tips I'd be very grateful:
In my head, I envision this series being an exhibition or show of some kind in order to A) raise awareness on declining bird populations and B) raise money for conservation efforts. I have this show almost fully mapped out in my head and I have a long way to go still, but I can see this idea very clearly.
The challenge is that I don't actually know how to make a solo show/exhibition happen. Ideally I'd be able to sell these pieces eventually, which means it probably wouldn't be a museum thing? Or maybe it is and I just use prints as the fundraising piece. I genuinely don't know. There are a few local places I could propose the idea to, and one of those I feel fairly confident about as a starting point.
I'm trying to figure out if it's worth applying for a grant to start framing stuff, when I don't really know how to actually pull off what I'm envisioning.
I went for a walk last night and saw my first Common Yellowthroat!

The second reception of ArtHeals is this Friday, May 15th from 5-8PM! Hopefully the weather is more cooperative this time, since we got insane wind and rain last month.
