Tipping Point is finished! I painted, scanned, and cut out the last four birds today. (well, the last 3 and a replacement Black Rail)

I've been working on this since March. 112 species, 113 paintings.

Eventually these will be available for purchase and a portion of each sale will be donated to Burroughs Audubon (my local Audubon chapter) to support their conservation work.

Until then, 10 Kansas species are available as postcards in my shop!

I'm only 4 more birds away from finishing this project, and I am so excited.

Finished this today in my new sketchbook. Pen and watercolor on moleskine sketchbook paper.

I got a new sketchbook yesterday and I'm trying to get out of my own head about what to draw. I want everything to be perfect and thought-out but I know that just makes me make less art.

So I drew some squares. And then I put my photo gallery in square view, scrolled until I found something I liked, and drew it.

That said, I definitely thought I had more close-up photos of plants but apparently not. I'll need to go take more.

I found these under a tree at the park this week and they've been surprisingly fun to draw. Version 1 was an experiment with my water soluble crayons. Not my favorite medium, but it was fun to try something new.

My art is now on display at Homer's Coffee House in Overland Park, Kansas now through the end of July! Come check it out and have some delicious coffee.

This set took a lot longer than usual because making art has been a struggle the last few weeks, but I'm hoping that's over now.

The Kansas Tipping Point birds will be on display and available for purchase at one of the Johnson County Library locations in January 2027! I'll share more info closer to the show.

Kansas City has a visitor: a brown booby!

He's been hanging out for a few days now, looking like he's not quite sure how he got here but enjoying the attention of all the birders coming to see him.

My husband and I went to see him last night and got some great pictures.
