god i’m starting my rewatch of Alone and it’s gonna make me sick. Poor nurse Bendy. “We all need people who aren’t mean to me, or don’t act like they only care about doing dirty things with you” “i feel thoughts of emotions and i need people to know that I do” oh god :/

to me, this entire episode is solely about how easy it is to become isolated and alone as a non-married woman in a town like Moralton. Nurse Bendy was raped when she was young and now is stuck with what i can only call age regression. Ms.Sculptom was raped more recently and has developed ocd because of it, but she did it in order to catch a serial rapist that no one else in town was attempting to apprehend. Because of this she now associates sexual arousal with her rapist. she also had to DIY her own abortion (most likely because it is outlawed where she lives). finally, when it comes to Ms. Censordoll, her mother removed her eggs when she was a baby, resulting in a fascination with eggs as a food as well as a personal ideology of being othered. these three women are outcasted in the town they live in for their own separate reasons but they have this one thing in common: they are alone. this episode is a masterpiece in the fact that i think it perfectly encapsulates the tone of S3. this whole time, Orel and his issues have been the focus. but conservative bible belt towns take a toll on all who live there, ESPECIALLY women, and this episode is the center of this point.

i think people are starting to confuse class analysis with bioessentialism. like... no not all men do this, but Men as a constructed social class do do this. that's still okay to say. that is regular material analysis of the world around us.
