I had to tell you once you rejected me that I had to let you go. I still valued you as a friend and maybe one day I can find you as a friend only but in case I cannot, I wished you a good life and that you find what you are looking for.

My arms reached out for a hug, to which you returned. Your body felt warm against mine, and your hands patted me to assure me that I was going to be okay, because yeah, I was sad. The hug went for a while and I pulled away only to feel some resistance. Sure, let us hug a little longer and I kept feeling the rhythmic touch of his hands on my back.

A few more moments later I pull away only to be met with the same resistance and suddenly, I heard you cry. You cried for the first time next to me, and I asked, “Are you crying?”

I felt like I was always giving you compliments. Called you cute and handsome. The love I gave was one-sided for so long because despite you constantly dropping hints or clues to push me away, I persisted and pursued. I relented however, and that day I felt you become cold hurt me.

I assured you that no matter what, I wanted to grow with you and that I loved you. Differences are natural and that I cared more about what brought us together than apart. Still, you couldn’t hold my love and I could not wait. You left the lights off, and I asked you to look at me and you refused. No matter what, you could only show me a tiny portion of your vulnerable side.
