Helena glanced at her and almost chuckled till she realised the woman was serious and not talking about the ‘vampire’ costume she was wearing. Vampires had a cold energy about them, like something long dead but without the rot, frozen. “I’ll be sure not to piss you off too much then. Last thing I need is to become someones snack before I’ve even had a drink myself.”
“Don’t worry. I’m not hungry, and I wouldn’t want to make a scene here. I suppose you could say I have manners,” Rayne said, flashing a smirk. But the reality of her situation still dawned on her at times, the brutal, horrible way that she was turned all those years ago. “But I could use a drink. What would you like? It’s on me.”
