For those who don’t know about Jane Sanders: While she was president of a small college in Vermont, she lied on a loan application to purchase land to expand the campus. When shit hit the fan, she was forced out of her job and was paid a huge severance. That’s why Bernie and Jane refused to release their tax return that year. They didn’t want you to see that they were the 1%–at least for that year. And it would also bring attention to Jane’s misdeeds. Even with Jane gone, the school was basically broke and was forced to close down.

Bernie also allegedly used his position as a US Senator to pressure the bank into giving Jane that loan. So. 👀
