When Ashik and I first started dating, he had just come out of an emotionally TRAUMATIC relationship and had already learnt to accept difficulties of life A LOT of us cannot even comprehend . As his friend for four years by then, I had NO idea the troubles he ACTUALLY went through until we fell in love, and he slowly opened up 😭 . One of the things I respect about him the most, is to this date, he never EVER publicly spoke ill of ANY ONE who hurt him . I used to get mad, because of how UNFAIR it was to such a kind-hearted person 😠 . Until one day he said “what’s the point?” “Will that make me any different?” 💙 . I remember that day I GREW UP a tad bit because of him . Since then I realised SO many people out there might be going through SO much internal pain, but just like this kind man, so many cannot show it 😭 . My phone just let me know that my screen time has gone up a lot over the past one week. Funnily enough, so has my average heartbeat. 🤔 . I am sure the same is true for the rest of you 😭 . It has definitely made my heart race faster, because I am thinking harder. . It’s important to give yourself a break, even from your gateway sometimes. . In a world where we already have NO control over the externalities, it’s CRUCIAL that we open our internal doors to positivity and close it to unnecessary brutal negativity 💙 . I know everyone has more time at home now, we are left alone with our thoughts, some good some bad. . Sometimes having MORE time means we have LESS self-control while spewing our personal negative opinions to others. I am guilty of it too. . But it’s important you have a “moral rubber band” in your heart. It means, EVERYTIME you THINK of posting something negative, you pull that moral rubber band and hit you, and push you to think twice. . “Do I really need to post that comment?” “Do I really need to bring someone down?” “Do I really need to share this content?” “Do I really need to THINK this way?” .
