Finnick snorted at that immediately, not at all surprised by her words, but still mocking disbelief. “I’m sorry, darling, it’s just that you said you don’t blame the innocent, yet you’re here, working for Coin? Don’t you worry, the irony is not lost on me.” He turned his head to watch what she was doing. “Unlike your boss, honesty is my policy. – It’s not me. It’s not any of us, actually. Can you let us go now?”

“Two sides to every story, hot shot. Maybe you’re not so innocent in mine.” Emphasis on the maybe, because Raven wasn’t sure what she believed in anymore. He probably had a point -- it was ironic. 

Bellamy stared back at her, every inch of him hoping he hadn’t made a mistake in coming to her. Her silence made him nervous, and naturally, he braced himself for the worst, muscles tightening. Raven didn’t seem like someone to scare easy, but it’d be pretty simple for her to call for back up, and turn him in for questioning loyalties. Luckily, she did none of that.

He visibly relaxed, knowing she wasn’t going to out him; but her words had delivered a whole new set of questions. Feeling helpless, Bell shook his head a little. “.. How?”

“You finally found something I don’t know the answer to.” So this was it. This was her opening up, spilling about how she felt. Even if Bellamy betrayed her, although she highly doubted he would, she realised she’d had enough. She couldn’t stand back any longer, and allow potentially innocent people to get hurt under her watch. Finn would be disappointed in her, and that broke her heart. 

Raven responded promptly, something which could have been read as loyalty if Emily didn’t know better. The woman avoided any specifics, never revealing much information about herself in the process, and though Emily didn’t believe she was a threat, at least, not yet; she was clearly keeping something quiet. In an ironic away, Raven reminded her of herself.

Nodding hesitantly, Emily continued to keep up appearances. Once again, Raven had failed to reveal anything. “Right.” Perhaps she’d have to try a different approach. “I.. I guess I just never realised I’d be getting my hands this dirty. I took this job to help people, you know?” Staring at the floor, expression relaying clear distress for a moment, Emily pretend to shake it off, giving the woman a small smile. “I’d better go get those coffees.”

Raven nodded in understanding. Perhaps she’d always known that to get the one thing she wanted most, someone somewhere would have to pay for it. She just didn’t realise she’d be seeing the results first hand. That she’d have to allow people to be tortured in front of her eyes. She may not be hurting them directly, but that was causing her hands to get dirty enough. “Me too,” she agreed, trying to avoid being too open. 

“You’re smart. Can I ask you something?”

Raven simply looked at him for a moment, assessing his expression. He was serious. He meant it. Maybe that meant someone felt the same way she did.

Bellamy shrugged, looking more fed up on Raven’s behalf. “I’d say you’re betting money on the right horse. More than happy to scour through CCTV, give you someone to glare at, if you want.”

At the damage description, he nodded once, thinking for a moment. “Sounds fixable. Also sounds like someone used it to beat something half to death. How else do you break an antenna like that?”

“Might be a good idea. Catch them out, so they don’t think about doing it again. Usually the guilty ones strike more than once.” Not that Raven would punish them, but a dirty look or two wasn’t an opportunity to pass up. 

“Seems nobody is,” he replied offside, knowing they hadn’t been fed in at least two days. “Sounds exciting.” Finn’s smirk only widened. “But no, not that it matters. Apparently it’s the norm around here to place blame on the innocent.”

Knowing what it was like to go without food, Raven ignored his comment, instead choosing to focus on the camera. “I don’t blame the innocent. If it’s not you, I’ll move on and ask someone else. It’s the potential lying that causes problems.”
