Javed Khaksar Shares The Science Behind Punch Power and Speed
1. Power Starts from the Ground Up
Punching power isn’t about arm strength—it’s about how well your entire body works together. The concept of the kinetic chain explains this perfectly. Every powerful punch begins at your feet pressing into the ground, travels through your legs, rotates through your hips, stabilizes via your core, and finally releases through your arm. If even one part of this chain is off, the punch loses effectiveness. That’s why fighters who look effortless often hit the hardest—they’re using their whole body, not just their fists.
2. Hips: The Real Engine of a Punch
According to Javed Khaksar, the hips are the most underrated part of punching. He often highlights that strong hip rotation is what transforms an ordinary punch into a powerful strike. Your arms alone cannot generate maximum force—your hips must lead the movement. Javed Khaksar teaches that mastering footwork and hip engagement allows fighters to unlock a new level of impact without necessarily increasing muscle mass.
3. Speed Comes from Relaxation, Not Tension
One of the biggest misconceptions about punching speed is that you need to stay tense. In reality, tension slows you down. True speed comes from staying relaxed during the motion and only contracting your muscles at the moment of impact. This allows your punch to travel faster and more efficiently. It’s a subtle shift, but it makes a massive difference. The fastest strikers aren’t the most muscular—they’re the most fluid.
4. Train Your System, Not Just Muscles
Punching isn’t just physical—it’s neurological. Your brain controls how quickly and accurately your muscles respond. Through repetition and consistent drilling, you train your nervous system to fire faster and more precisely. This is why experienced fighters seem to react instantly—they’ve built those neural pathways over time. Combine this with training fast-twitch muscle fibers through explosive exercises like plyometrics and medicine ball work, and you develop both speed and power simultaneously.
5. Technique, Timing, and Breath Tie It All Together
Even with strength and speed, poor technique will hold you back. Efficient punches follow the shortest path with minimal wasted motion, increasing both accuracy and impact. Timing is just as critical—a well-timed punch can feel far more powerful than a poorly executed one. And don’t overlook breathing. A sharp exhale at the moment of impact stabilizes your core and enhances force output. These small details often separate average punches from truly devastating ones.
Final Thought
Punch power and speed aren’t natural gifts—they’re developed skills. By focusing on body mechanics, staying relaxed, training explosively, and refining technique, anyone can improve. When science meets disciplined practice, your punches won’t just be faster or stronger—they’ll be smarter.
Joe, fighting, and the way he connects with people
Just had a few thoughts about Joe, the meaning of combat in Joe's life, how it connects to his final match against Jose Mendoza, and how Yoko comes into it.
Something I noticed is that a lot of people online don't think Joe could have a friendly relationship with Yoko post-series because of how hostile, antagonistic, and vitriolic their relationship is during most of the series.
Finally back to working on the tarot cards now that I've had some time to relax. I went way overboard with the details with the chariot lmao, but man was it fun to do. Kimura is underrated, his fight with Mashiba is def one of my favorite fights in the series. Morikawa give this guy a win already pleassseeeeee I beg you. I adore how his relationship with his dad improved over the course of the series. I def want more flashbacks of him and Aoki being childhood friends too.

Any way, things to try and do to make some noise about this.
Call Discord at 888-594-0085. All I had to do was stay on the line and leave a voice mail.
File a support ticket with discord. This will require you to create an account separate from your discord account.
If you have Nitro, CANCEL IT.
File a complaint with the California Privacy Protection Agency. You do not need to live in California to do this. I personally checked off "Right to Opt-out of Sale/Sharing" "Right to Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information" "A business’s collection, use, storing or sharing of my personal information" and "Children's privacy" because like FUCK would they not be getting that in their efforts to protect them. When they asked for evidence of privacy violations, I shared the Discord press release.
It's also worth mentioning that Discord is headquartered in California.
If you live in a European country, this webpage has a list of all the countries so you can find yours and file a privacy complaint.
Canadians can file a complaint with the Privacy Commissioner.

Inspired by a fairy recent Jujutsu Kaisen meme.
This is a follow-up for my last post:
Seems the people running Tumblr don't care if the users fall for scams. This is NOT how this life of situation to be handled.
PSA:
If you get a message for. Someone saying "hey there, sorry, but me and my friends accidentally reported your account, we can fix this by discussing it in discord or whatsapp, don't do it- it is an attempt to Scam you.
Someone just tried to pull that on me, just bow, and I'm having none of it. So this is a warning- be careful if you get messages like the one I described before users you don't know.
Dumb little idiots (I love them)

Today's One Thing: Starting
There's something quietly scary yet thrilling about just starting. Not finishing, not perfecting, just beginning. Today, I noticed how much energy it takes to to make the first step - whether it's a new project, a small habit, or even a single sentence on a blank page.
Starting feels like a promise to yourself, a small act that says, I'm here, I'm trying, I'm moving forward. and sometimes, that first step is the most important thing to do all day.
What did you dream of starting last night?

hi guys! discord is doing a survey on how people would like ai to be integrated into discord. take it and say fuck no to every question. when you get to "in general, how do you feel about discord inegrating ai features?", respond that you would actively get everyone you know off of discord and wouldn't pay for nitro or other shop items if they added ai features.
watch out for the trap! there's ONE QUESTION where the last option *isn't* the max 'no AI' option, read each part carefully to be sure
