MALFOY MANOR | REWRITTEN
based off of this incredible drarry headcanon/ficlet by @malfqy - created with permission, of course.
{ the minute i read her post, i fell in love with it - immediately writing a rough draft of the post if it ever became real. that day after school, i dropped into her inbox - absolutely screaming about her headcanon, and spilling my idea to her. days have passed of long work and brainstorming with her, and the story is finally done.
so in short, this is dedicated to her (despite seeing the story as it went under final editing, i still hope you enjoy, katherine đ)
/
for everyone else, i hope you all enjoy as well. i tried to make this as close as canon as i could but apparently, tumblr did not like me attempting to go over the 100 paragraph space limit - which were well needed. therefore, i have given inserted as much of the story as i was allowed ( edit: i was able to add the entire story but since this is a long read, 5k+ words) and i have attached a link to its posting on ao3 here.
i hope you do not mind, and happy reading!! đđ

âCOME OUT OF THERE WITH YOUR HANDS UP!â A rough voice called from outside the tent, into the darkness and people inside. All movement ceased upon hearing it, and a dreadful silence filled the air as all eyes turned onto the entrance of the tent: carefully watching as a steady ray of light attempted to pierce through the surrounding fabric, attempting to locate them. âWe know youâre in there! Youâve got half a dozen wands pointing at you and we donât care who we curse!â
Harry gave a half inch turn at either of his side; looking at the outline of Hermione standing at his left, and of Ron and Draco at his right. He closed his eyes and drew in a breath, grasping at the space around himself before his fingers met the sleeve of a sweater; the magic from the hand underneath feeling familiar. Harry held it, angling his body in front of his boyfriendâs as a shield once the hand squeezed back; already sensing Dracoâs panic rising from the shallow breathing against his neck.
âThe nameâs Taboo!â Ronâs voice from earlier echoed in Harryâs head, before the memory scene fell into the Sneakoscope lit and begun to spin; a loud crack sounding outside the tent. Harry shook his head as the memory shifted back over into their current situation.
This couldâve been avoided! Harry screamed at himself, We couldâve had more time. Â
But there was nothing he could do about it now:
It was done.
The sound of leaves ruffling outside removed Harry from his thoughts. The shadows of the people outside began to encircle the tent tighter: it was clear they werenât leaving.
Out the corner of his eye, Harry was able to make out the movement of Hermioneâs arm as she rose and extended it out; the tip of her wand aimed at the flap of the entrance of the tent - supposedly for the Snatchers surround them outside. But then, with a swift turn of her body, the wand was pointed at him and Harry dropped to the ground with a yell as a bang erupted out, and a bright, white light struck him square in the face.
His body curled in tightly as he met the ground, Harryâs own hands clawing at his face as a burning sensation broke through. His eyes, he couldnât see anything! Heavy footfalls began to approach, and as foolish as it was, Harry set his mind on attempting to crawl away. But as he reached out, so did another pair of hands. And then another: All coming together to roughly drag him off the ground.
As he was brought into a standing position, his arms were pinned tightly behind his back, and Harry let out a groan at the excruciating painful position they were held in. His clothes were pulled and tugged on harshly as his pockets were rummaged through; the searching hands eventually finding the hawthorn wand hidden in an inner pocket.
A sudden jolt of pain ran through his face. Â

Beauty in You
I wanted to write this for everyone who thinks they are ugly and not worth it. You may not have your Draco Malfoy to tell you the truth but Iâm here and Iâm telling you, you are beautiful. Everyone needs to be told this more often because we often forget it, especially me. If you are ever suffering from any self-confidence issues you are welcome to talk to me anytime. Lots of love and btw youâre freaking gorgeous so donât forget it xxxx
Harry glanced up at the mirror before grimacing, tearing his eyes away and turning the other direction. He didnât like what he saw. He never had really. His hair was too unkept, his nose too prominent and his neck too long. He hated the ugly lines of his scar that stood for everything he had lost, everything he hated. The only thing he really liked about his face were his eyes. They shone against his dark skin and were identical to his mothers, which was the main reason he didnât want to tear them out, like most of his other features. Everything about his face made Harry want to smash a mirror every time he looked in one. Or cry. Or both.
He hadnât really experienced this self-loathing during his teenage years, his mind too preoccupied with trying to stay alive and save those he loved, but now he was twenty, out of school and out of the threat of danger wherever he went. This meant he had more time to question his existence in the Ministry bathrooms. Which was exactly what he was doing right now.
He ran a hand through his hair, trying to prevent the tears that were threatening to fall. Merlin, he hated this. He hated himself mostly. He had no right to feel like this. People had died for him, gone forever. Others were left with life-long injuries, their lives as they know it taken away from them in a flash. Yet here Harry was, almost crying in a toilet because he didnât like the way he looked. He was pathetic. No wonder Ginny had left him. No one would want him, and the sooner Harry accepted that, the better.
âPotter. I have been waiting outside for fifteen minutes. No normal person takes this long to-â Harry spun round. Draco was staring at his face - because itâs horrible, Harry - a confused, startled look painted across his features.
âWhy⊠why are you crying?â
Fuck. Harry quickly wiped at the tears, a blush spreading across his face. Malfoy was the person he least wanted to see right now. The pale, handsome face had already cause Harry enough trouble. Every time he looked at Malfoy his heart leaped and his stomach filled with butterflies but then guilt and anger filled him. He would never, ever feel the same as Harry. He was not only out of Harryâs league, but he was literally on a different planet where all the people-to-gorgeous-it-was-unfair lived. Harry didnât have a chance.
âItâs nothing,â Harry mumbled. He wanted to get out but Malfoy was blocking his path to the door.
The blonde stepped forward. âHarry, whatâs wrong?â
The use of his first name startled Harry, but he refused to meet Dracoâs gaze. He wouldnât remind Malfoy of how ugly he was by showing his face.
âI got something in my eye.â
âHarry. Tell me.â Dracoâs voice was getting louder now.
âNothing, Malfoy. I said Iâm fine.â
âPotter, just bloody tell me whatâs wrong.â
âNothing.â
âMerlin, Potter. Just say it!â Draco yelled, throwing his hands up in exasperation.
âNO! â Harry exploded, watching as Draco stepped back, shocked. Harry wished he had never come here. It was a mistake. He was a mistake. He couldnât even talk to Malfoy without becoming a mess. A stupid, ugly, vile mess.
Tears began welling up in eyes again. His body was shaking with broken sobs, his vision blurry. âDraco- please go,â he croaked between the violent sobs raking through his body. He felt himself slide down the cold wall, pulling his knees up to his face and wrapping his arms around himself, so he was as small as possible. Small enough to not be seen. Small enough to pretend he didnât exist.
A slim hand rested itself on Harryâs knee, although he hardly registered it. âHarry. Please. I want to help you.â
âNo you donât. Donât lie to yourself. Iâm not worth it,â Harry heard himself say, although his voice was croaky and shaky.
Another hand gently began rubbing circles on Harryâs began, instantly calming him. âI do, Harry. I would have left if I didnât want to help you. But you need to tell me whatâs wrong.â
Harry breathed in, trying to prevent the sobs that still threatened to overcome him. âIâm ugly,â he whispered so quietly that he wasnât even sure if he had said it. However, the hand suddenly stopped on Harryâs back, indicating that Draco had heard him.
ââŠwhat?â Draco whispered back, his voice full of confusion.
âIâm ugly. Okay. I know I am, so donât even try to tell me that Iâm not. Every time I look in the mirror I want to scream. And I donât even know why anymore. I should have accepted this long ago. I have accepted it. But I still always look in the mirror and hope I see someone different, and I never do. And then I start to get emotional. And then I realise how fucking pathetic I am because Iâm crying over something that Iâve known all my life. Something that is so stupid because people died for me, Draco. People have lost everything and Iâm sitting on a bathroom floor, worried about the fact no one will ever love me because Iâm so ugly. Isnât that pathetic? And whatâs even worse is that I try to tell myself that it doesnât matter, that someone maybe will actually look at my face and think Iâm not the most horrendous thing theyâve ever seen. I start hoping that maybe someone will be attracted to me. And thatâs the saddest thing of it all.â
Hands gently pried Harryâs arms from his face. Donât. Heâs going to see your ugly face, Harry. Glazed green eyes slowly looked up, meeting Dracoâs gaze. Harry was surprised to find a deep sadness in the stormy grey eyes.
âHarry, Iâm going to be honest. Iâm so confused at everything youâve just said because the man in front of me is one of the most beautiful human beings I have ever had the privilege to meet. I donât know how you could think otherwise. Anyway, beauty is not just defined in the way you look; itâs in the way you act. You are beautiful in more than your face or your body. You are beautiful when you always buy my favourite cherry scones in the morning, even though you donât like them. And when tears are rolling down your cheeks and your laughter is filling up the room because someone told a corny joke and you find it hilarious for some stupid reason. And when you see Ron and Hermione and you give them that massive grin that does crazy things to my heart. Youâre beautiful when you read a sad story in the Prophet and your eyes drop and your mouth turns down and every time I see it I want to reach over and hold you, just once. And when you see a dog and your eyes light up like the someone has lit a Lumos behind them. And you are so, so beautiful when you look at me and give me that small smile that makes me believe I am more than what Iâve done. Iâm more than my mistakes. You only see yourself in the mirror, Harry. You never see all the emotions and love and kindness that makes you, you. You would still be fucking gorgeous without all these things, because Merlin have you seen your bone structure, but the way you act makes you so much more beautiful than even I can comprehend, Harry. The only ugly thing about you is the fact you think you are.â
Harry speechless , his mind still trying to understand everything Draco had just said whenever the other man interrupted his thoughts.
âOh, and I donât think itâs that unlikely that someone would be attracted to you. Actually, I think someone in this very room is completely and utterly obsessed with you.â
Draco smiled shyly at Harry, his hand that rested on Harryâs back now almost burning his skin. Harry didnât know whether to cry or kiss Draco. So he did both.
He grabbed the blondeâs face, slamming their lips together while tears streamed down both their cheeks. But Draco didnât kiss him back, his lips unmoving. Harry pulled back, self-consciousness raking through him but Draco immediately pulled him back in, the shock wearing off. The kiss was softer than Harry expected but the gentleness comforted him in ways he had never known. Draco hands stroked Harryâs tears away, touching Harryâs face like it was the most precious thing in the world and Harry wondered if it was a dream.
Harry still didnât really believe Draco, the months and years of self-loathing resulting in it being apart of his very bones. But he wanted to believe him. He wanted to feel valued and wanted and maybe even beautiful. The time ahead would be hard, Harry already knew that. He couldnât rely on Draco to make him feel better about himself and he couldnât allow his own self-consciousness to affect his newfound relationship.
For now, however, Draco was here. Holding Harry in his arms. Where he always should have been. And Harry felt that perhaps beauty wasnât the most important thing after all.
By @captofthesswolfstar This piece brings so many feels. Sirius is really struggling with his mental health and itâs affecting every part of his life. AU where Sirius and Remus are raising Harry together but are not a couple anymore (I know, that made me sad too) due to the accusations and mistrust. The main focus is Remus taking care of Sirius and it is lovely. I get so sad reading about the mistrust but it happened, and itâs real. I think Tara has done an amazing job of showing the pain people like Sirius go through, and that even though we might see a bright, energetic person, sometimes they can collapse in on themselves and just need to be loved.
This world is all that matters
âRemus? Do you think there is a world where we are happy?â Sirius voice was soft. Almost a wishper. Were they not the only people in the dorm, and if the door and the windows were not closed Remus wouldnât have heard him.
He was taken aback by the question. Sirius was not usually the one to start conversations of that kind. Remus knew that he had a soft side but he also knew that most of the time he would rather die than showing it.
He didnât know neither how to react not how to respond. After the âPrankâ the atmosphere was tense between them. Remus had forgiven Sirius but he had certainly not forgotten. The dynamic of the marauders was not the same anymore. Remus was more closed to himself that ever, his once genuine smile was now replaced by a small nod. He seemed liked he didnât have the energy to keep up, he had lost his hope again. Sirius rarely talked. He suffered most out of all of them. His eyes were missing the mischievous spark they once had. He kept walking behind James, quiet, pretending he was listening and that he was interested.
They both knew very well that ignoring the problem would do very little in solving it, but they kept doing exactly that anyway.
Deciding that this was not the proper time for these kind of thoughts, Remus started walking toward Siriusâ bed.
He sat quietly in his feet and he pressed one palm softly against his leg.
âWhat do you mean Pads?â
The nickname slipped from his mouth like it was the most natural thing in the world. He hadnât used that since the incident but now it echoed in the silent room making both boys forget for a moment how the things between them truly were, and even for a few seconds, pretend that everything was back to normal.
Sirius was under his covers. His eyes were puffy and red and he seemed like he had been crying.
âDo you belive in pharel universes?â he asked holding his breath, not knowing if Remus would actually take him seriously or if he would laugh at his face and go to his own bed.
âI.. I havenât really thought about it.â Remus said honestly.
Sirius seemed like he was debating something in his head. After a moment, he sighed and said:
âDo you think that there is a world where everything is good? Where you are not a werewolf, were my parents donât exist, where the prank..â he flinched slightly but he continued
âwhere the prank never happened and where there is not a war going on?
Do you think that there is a world where everything is OK?â
His voice was trembling. Remus didnât know which one was the right answer. He wanted to make Sirius feel better even for a brief second but he couldnât figure out how.
â I donât know if there is a world like that Padfoot.â
Sirius now flinched visibly. He was shaking.
â⊠right. You are are right I donât know what I was thinking. Iâm sor-â
But Remus tightend his grip on Sirius leg and he spoke in a steady but soft tone.
âI donât know if there is a perfect world. I donât know is there is a world where we are happy. But you know what I know? I know that weâre gonna be happy in this one.
We are goona make it, Padfoot. I promise.â
A tear fell from Siriusâ face and for one second Remus thought that he had said something wrong. However, before he was able to speak Sirius was sitting up in his bed.
âCan.. Can I m-maybe hug you?â
The sweat request melted every piece of anger that remained inside of Remus. He thought about all of the times that Sirius had been there for him, about all their late night conversations, about all the times that Sirius had listened him rambling without a single interruption letting him know that he was there for him.
He deserved the same thing from him and he wouldnât be that egoistic as to not give it to him.
â..Y-yes Sirius of course.â
Sirius arms immediately wrapped around his shoulders, holding him tight like he was the most priced possession in the whole world, keeping him warm and safe. Only now he realized how much he missed Sirius. Sirius, the boy he once used to know, the boy with the sparkling eyes and the warm heart, the boy who he loved with all of his being.
âIâve missed you so much Moony. So much it bloody hurts. Iâm s-sorry. Iâm so fucking sorry. I want you back..â
Remus didnât want to listen anymore. That was enough for him. He could read Sirius like an open book after all this time. He could understand when he was telling the truth, when he was joking, when he was hurt and he was trying to cover it. And he could also understand when he was genuine and when he was really sorry.
He pulled back, only for a second and he pressed his lips to Siriusâ soft ones.
Kissing Sirius was so familiar and so new at the same time. Because kissing Sirius was like kissing the sea: the power the softness of his lips, the feeling of completeness.
Kissing Sirius felt like he belonged, kissing Sirius felt like everything he ever wanted and everything he never thight he would have.
He sifted his head just slightly and he pressed his tongue against Sirius lips. Sirius opened them with a small moan and he brought his hands around Remus neck.
After a moment, they broke apart, their foreheads pressed together, looking in each otherâs eyes, trying to suck everything, every detail that they might have forgotten.
Watching Sirius smile after so long was everything Remus needed. He had missed him so much.
Remus was not sure if pharel universes were real. He was not sure if there was a world were everything was OK. But he decided that he didnât really care. He knew that he would fight with everything he had, to make this one, the world in which he now existed, a happy one.
Because in the end, this world was all that mattered.
muggle london

Sirius stared at the numbers, repeating them over and over, in a sing-song tune, hoping to do what with them he didnât know, maybe to remember them, maybe to drown out the throbbing pain on his cheekbone. The paper was wrinkled and torn at the edges, and Sirius ran his fingers over the edges of it. Remus had touched these edges, he had ripped them, he had scrawled these numbers, he had told Sirius to call if he ever needed a way out. He had held the paper in between the pads of his fingers and slipped it into Siriusâ robes before they got off the train. He had said See you soon. Â And itâs only for the holidays. And just a week. Thatâs all.
Sirius had nodded and slipped his hand into his robes, holding the paper dropped there moments ago in his fist. He had barely heard what Remus had said. By that time, he was already looking out at the platform, drunk on what he knew was coming.
It came. It started small, with fights and insults. It started with Sirius mocking the Christmas decorations, and Regulus shooting him warning looks. It started with his mother telling him that they were to have a Christmas banquet, threatening him as she always did in her endless motherly love. He had known that things wouldnât go over smoothly. He tried to lock himself in his room, to stare at the walls, to recall just how Remusâ voice had sounded on the train, comforting but also pleading, begging him not to make things hard for himself. The walls were too blank, though, and the house was too quiet, and he was torn between wanting his parents to leave him alone and a blind rage at being ignored. They struck the balance perfectly. He was just invisible enough to be irrelevant but just important enough to be watched all the fucking time.
Thatâs how it had started. Then came some more yelling, not the lazy kind, reminding him to sit up straight and walk with pride, but the kind that reminded him that this was his job, to sit here and listen. She had found the spot just outside the window on the third floor that was tucked into the corridor, nearly invisible unless you jimmied the window open, leaned your head out, and searched for corner behind the scaffolding where his owl would land. She had found it. She had found the letters, from James, and Peter, and Lily, and Marlene. She hadnât found the letters from Remus. Sirius had told him not to write.
She had called him down. She had shaken the letters in his face while his father stood in the corner, hunched over, looking almost bored. Each of their names were sorted. Mckinnon was okay, she was pureblood, and actually, it would do him good to be talking to some pureblood girls. Potter wasnât ideal. He could keep one. Pettigrew and Evans were burned. Her face twisted up when she saw their names, and she looked at him. How she looked at him, he didnât think heâd ever forget. She wasnât his mother, that much was clear. She was a woman made of only spite and bitterness, and he knew that, but the expression on her face, one of pity, and disgust, and crashing disappointment, cut him to the bone.
âYouâre just selfish! You canât stand the idea of not having control over me anymore!â
âThis has never been about control.â
âYou canât stand that Iâve finally found people who donât find me fucking useless.â
The expression fell from her face. She tossed the last envelope in the fire, and the edges curled up around the flames. He stood, looking her in the face, hoping that she would scream and yell, waiting for her to fulfill his expectations. She didnât. She smiled.
âSirius. I have never found you useless. But, take it from your mother, you are very difficult to love.â
She had looked at the fire, devoid of paper, before turning and walking out of the room. Anyone could tell what he shouldâve done next. He shouldâve gone to his room, he shouldâve shut his door, he shouldâve fucking shut up, and he shouldâve waited because it was just a week, just a week, just a week, but he didnât. He ran after her.
âYou fucking bitch!â
Thatâs how it had ended. His father in front of him, no longer apathetic, Regulus standing in the kitchen, yelling, Sirius running up the stairs, up to the attic, barricading the door, and slipping out the window, down the ivy, under the hedge, out of the house. Sirius stumbling over his feet, gasping for breath, running, his cheek throbbing. Someoneâs voice, calling behind, but too high up for it to matter. He ran through the streets, out of his sleepy neighborhood, into downtown London. He ran for what felt like hours, until the lights from the shops moved too much and spun the world too fast, and until he felt his legs were no longer his and they stumbled over each other from moving too much.
He knew where he was, now. It was the same place he had come at seven years old when he first learned he could escape the house without his parents noticing. At the time, he didnât know anything about London besides where his mother took him. It astounded him. He had stared at the neon lights until his vision spotted, and breathed in the smell of curry, and stale beer, and piss and marveled at it. Sirius put his hand on his cheek, feeling it swell, and stepped toward the pub in front of him. He had come in here, still dressed like a pureblood wizard, with no concept of muggle money, and asked for a beer. The muggles had laughed at him and asked him where his parents were. The owner had given him a lemonade, free of charge, and since then, Sirius would return again and again, with no money, to see the little muggle tavern and sit under the warm lights, just watching people walk by.
He pushed open the door to the pub, the bell above him jingling, and made his way to the counter.
âWell, look whoâs back!â The man behind it smiled, placing the grimy glass on the bar counter. His expression faltered. âWhat happened to you?â
Sirius grinned at him.
âRough night.â
The man, his name was Earl, Sirius thought, but could never really remember, looked at him disbelievingly. He stared at Sirius for a long moment, and Sirius could see the wheels spinning in his mind. It was doing the math, tallying up all the times Sirius had shown up, never with parents, always in a bad mood, counting the bruise on his cheek and the daughter that the man had upstairs. Earl shook his head and opened his mouth, but Sirius cut him off.
âCan I just get a drink?â
âWhen youâre not 15.â
âA water?â
Earl smiled and reached down under the bar, spraying a glass full of water from the tap. He slid it across the counter, and Sirius caught it, bruised knuckles splayed across the glass in a disjointed pattern. Earl frowned.
âAre you okay, kid?â
Sirius smiled.
âA beer would make me better.â
The man laughed and turned back to the bar.
Sirius sipped his water and watched the people come and go beside him, shooting him odd looks, occasionally asking his age. He shrugged each time. He ran his fingers around the rim off the glass, picking up dust. He fiddled with the small radio beside him. It was half broken, and the sound only came from one speaker, but it let you put in cassette tapes and sometimes if you held it just right, a sound would sputter out of it, low and crackling. Sirius didnât know much about radios, but he hadnât managed to discover in the last year, with the help of Lily and the incessant pushing of buttons, how to slide a cassette in one and press play. He slipped a cassette in, bent his head down and listened.
It went like that for awhile. Every time the song would end, he would take the box out, place it back in, and press the button again until the melody rewound itself and began again. Sirius sipped his water, his knuckles ached, and the music played. The bar emptied out, the cars disappeared from the streets, and Sirius listened. It was comforting, to hear the same words, again and again, the same chords and the same tune, to know exactly what was coming next and when it would end. Sirius played the song again. Earl refilled his glass. Sirius kept his eyes down, but Earl stayed there, standing before him.
âListen, kid. Itâs almost midnight, and itâs a Thursday. You got to go home. Weâre closing in ten minutes.â
Earl looked at him helplessly, the corners of his mouth turned down. The song played.
âCan I call someone?â
Earl nodded and unhooked the phone from the wall, handing him the phone. Sirius stared at it. It was covered in buttons, and there was a wire that snaked from the bottom of it. Earl raised an eyebrow.
âDo you know how to use a telephone?â
Sirius nodded quickly and pulled the slip of paper from his jacket. 803-528-4765. There were numbers on the phone and numbers on the paper, so he punched them in, looking back at Earl. The phone buzzed in Siriusâ ear and he started. The bar was silent now that the music had stopped, and Sirius drummed his fingers on the wood, hoping for something, but he didnât know what.
âHullo?â
âRemus?â
âPads?â
Sirius tried to speak, but his throat was blocked up, and so he let out a choked sound, gripping the phone to his ear as tightly as he could.
âPadfoot, where are you? Whatâs going on?â
âHow- How far is it from Leicestershire to London?â
âBy car? Like two hours.â
Sirius fell silent.
âOh, okay. Thanks-â
âNo, wait, whatâs going on, Pads? Do you need me to come get you?â
Sirius tried to stay silent, but Remusâ voice was soft and filling up his ears. It sounded like Remus had just woken up like he had stumbled to the telephone, but it was urgent, too, and Sirius could see his face, scrunched up with worry, on the other side of the cord. His chest was filling up and when Sirius couldnât hold back the words anymore, he choked out yes.
The bar closed, the streets were cold, and Sirius sat on the curb, shivering. Wind whipped around the corners and cold seeped its way everywhere, even under his skin, but Sirius didnât really mind. He minded how exposed he was. Waiting alone, bruised and underdressed, visible for the world to see.
One hour and fifty minutes later, a beat-up pickup truck wound its way down the street. It had been repainted bright yellow, maybe in an attempt to make it look less sad or less old, but Sirius didnât particularly care about the sadness or oldness of it or about how he could hear its rumble all the way down the street. He had his eyes fixed on the person in it and the worried expression on their face, just as he had imagined it, and when the truck pulled up, he felt as though he might collapse. He managed to get to his feet, and the moment he did, Remus was in front of him. Real, actual, Remus. He smelled as he always did, lemony and like sleep, and Sirius let him shove a hat on his head, and gloves on his hands, and take his coat off and wind it around Siriusâ shoulders. Sirius let him look at his cheek, and he let out a breath of relief when Remus said nothing. Â
He let Remus drive him, in complete silence, through the night. He let Remus place his hand on his. He let Remus walk him to the Potterâs door.
It was four a.m. when they stood on the Potterâs porch on Christmas Eve. The sun hadnât come up, and it wouldnât for awhile, but Sirius kept his eyes on the horizon anyway, looking out for a sign of light. Remus leaned forward and pressed his lips firmly against Siriusâ forehead.
He muttered into his hair, âAre you okay?â
âI just donât want to really talk about it right now.â
Remus nodded and gave him a long sad look, and before Sirius knew it, the yellow car was driving away, still so bright, into the edges of the landscape. Sirius waited, wrapped up in Remusâ coat, on the Potterâs doorstep until the sun came.
