В последнее время в процессах очередного дистрохоперства я упускал из вида opensuse. Как оказалось - зря. Дистрибутив действительно приятный.

В 13.04 намертво убит PIL (особенно в контексте генерации TIFF c LZW compression). Проблема решается даунгрейдом PIL до версии из 12.10. Баг репорт открыт тут https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-imaging/+bug/1112496. Мало ли кому понадобится. И да - я таки созрел до необходимости иметь собственный продакшен сервер.

If you want to process raw (cr2/nef) images using ubuntu 13.04 and pythonmagick just install ufraw. It should fix all issues with imagemagick and some raw formats.

AFP OSX server and ubuntu 13.04

Messed with OSX AFP server and ubuntu 13.04 AFP client. Managed to make it work after installing afpfs-ng and afpfs-ng-utils:

mount_afp -o user=$local-ubuntu-username 'afp://$server-login:server-pass@$server-address/$server-share' /$mount-point
