dave vriska karkat and terezi are the people who i genuinely believe immortality would turn into the biggest freaks dirk is up there in the beginning but after like 3000 years he mellows out and becomes normal meanwhile the first four are like hey rose we’re going to lock ourselves in a reinforced room together indefinitely can you come check on us in like a decade <3 thanks

why do people write “bad at communicating” as jake’s main trait like dirk didn’t literally create a robot to talk to his friends for him

It’s more like he created a program to talk to himself and it goes and talks to his friends for him anyway, but., still

lil hal is an autoresponder, built to imitate dirk to his friends when dirk is predisposed. dirk argues with him because he’s dirk and he’d start a fist fight with a mirror if he accidentally sneered into one

Continuing non sburb dirk thoughts, I also think that he’d end up catfishing people but specifically in a situation where he’s like on gardening forums roleplaying as Barbara the 60 year old gardening amateur, birding enthusiast, and two time divorcée because he feels like expressing any sort of genuine interest in a hobby would crack his coolguy (tm) persona like a particularly disillusioned egg so his solution is to implement ‘failsafes’ that either distance him from emotional vulnerability or allow for plausible deniability were anyone to find out or approach him about it. Anyways this whole mess ends up being pointless because he gets really into it and ends up ordering seeds in bulk so like. Everyone knows.
