I think the big part people are hung up on with her design is the overcoat-vest thing (which im not even sure what to call it, im 90% sure overcoat is just wrong but im just rolling with it) and whatevers happening down on her legs. why so many ribbons girl.

So to explain these areas simply! The overcoat is connected to the tail in the back (A) and wraps over Queens arms & around their mid-chest, then folds over itself to show the underside (B). Its sits off their shoulders though, meaning we can see that their main vest ends at their shoulders. So the black sleeves are connected to the overcoat!

For the legs however. Im not quiet sure how to explain it other then theres ribbons?? Im pretty sure the black boot stuff (again, I have no idea what to call this) is a leather-like material, and appears to have silver detailing on the taller one to resemble an oboe! Im not sure if these are meant to be attached to their boots or a seperate piece? But in any case I do understand that this part is pretty confusing to draw, and thats why I included my extra note! SIMPLIFY THINGS!!!! As you can see in my design of Queen, I dont draw her overcoat in an "accurate" shape, instead choosing to make it more triangular since its easier to draw! As well as ignoring the ornate patterns most of the time. Its ok to look at something and think "im not doing all that." As long as you keep a characters key details, they should be recognizable.
