No_ahhh is punk

I find Roose’s assertions about Ramsay’s intelligence so interesting. Obviously we see in ADWD Reek iii that Ramsay can let his impatience and bloodlust override tactical planning for battles. BUT we also know, as seen in ACOK, that he can play the long game and orchestrate the perfect snare for his enemy when waiting to strike. I just think in particular when Roose describes Ramsay’s fighting style to Theon as ‘a butcher hacking at meat’ and his implication that Ramsay is uneducated in any kind of strategy bar mindless violence is his own snobbery. I think it’s especially undermined by what we see at the Sack of Winterfell. Where Ramsay is clearly knowledgable in Ironborn conquest strategy enough to replicate it. He knows that they burn down places they loot after a siege and utilises it to bolster the lie that it was the Ironborn. It could be common knowledge in the North idk (though I think it’d be better known in the riverlands) and it’s only a small thing, but I think it just suggests that he does have a grasp of fighting strategy and has studied. Just that perhaps it’s more of a conscious choice not to employ it because it doesn’t provide as much pleasure as his own style of fighting.
