How do you express yourself on a day-to-day basis?

By being transparent about things like my sexuality and about money, which I do in my work. If we can talk about the tough stuff, then there’s no reason to feel ashamed or to be anybody else.

What is the relationship between your art and your identity?

I take the things I’d least like to talk about—the stuff I’m embarrassed by—and turn them into art.

What advice would you give your younger self about exploring your identity?

Don’t worry about what other people will say. They might not like what you’re doing but that’s their problem, not yours.
