Where was this anger when Rooney Mara was cast as Tiger Lily? Or Scarlet Johansson in Ghost in the Shell? How about when a movie about Egyptian gods featured a predominately white cast? The Ancient One being turned into a "Celtic" white woman? Marvel casting Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor Johnson/Evan Peters as Wanda and Peter Maximoff, stripping them of their Romani culture? Zoe Saldana saying she didn't want to wait for the right black woman and casting herself as Nina Simone? Emma Stone in Aloha? Jesus? Avatar the Last Airbender? Dragon Ball? Death Note?

White people will give you a hundred reasons and excuses why it is okay to play characters of color but give a thousand more on why a person of color can't play a white character.

It's not a preference. It isn't your childhood being stripped away. It isn't the loss of representation for Danish people. It isn't people of color taking everything that belongs to white people. It isn't reverse racism. It's YOU being racist and selfish. Grow the fuck up.

I have no words..

My second ever fic, “A Blank Page For You”, is up on Ao3 now. I’m fairly new to the tumblr fandom and I don’t think I have that many Gilmore Girls-fans amongst my followers, let me know if I’m wrong :) If some sweet marshmallow would read it in spite of this it’d be absolutely angelic… It’s my first with “mature” content and I’m a bit nervous about it, actually.
