It’s only been a few months since my boyfriend and I moved here, and somehow… they’ve found us. The neighborhood cats. The little shadows that appear silently when we open the window. They know we’ll feed them.

It breaks my heart to think about how many strays are out there, how many live with hunger, fear, cold. And yet, in this tiny exchange — a bit of food, a slow blink, a quiet meow — there’s something deeply healing.

They show up every day now. Different faces, different stories. Some are shy, some bold. Some just sit and watch. But they come. And every time they do, I feel a little spark of connection. A little more softness in the world.

Briam – A Taste of Simplicity

Today I made briam. One of the easiest dishes, it always fills me up — body and soul. Tomatoes, potatoes, zucchini, eggplant, onion, peppers — all in one tray, all melting together like they’re having a quiet conversation. I added a generous splash of olive oil, some oregano, a bit of garlic, and let it roast slowly.

Let me introduce you to my three amazing kittens: Beta, Jack, and Tommy — each one has their own quirky personality that makes them unforgettable.

• Jack is the chubby black cat who somehow always gets blamed for everything. No matter what happens around the house, Jack is the first one we point the finger at! He’s the lovable troublemaker who can’t help but get into mischief, but we can’t stay mad at him for long — he’s too cute.

• Beta is our spoiled little gray kitten who thinks she owns the bed. She’s the first to jump up on the couch or blanket, demanding attention and cuddles. She has a special place in all our hearts, and she knows it!

• Tommy, the soon-to-be momma, is a dynamic, slightly aloof queen. She’s a bit of a mystery, always keeping her distance, but when she wants love, you better be ready to give it all. We adore her, especially her gorgeous eyes that resemble Cleopatra’s eyeliner — she’s got the look of royalty!

These three bring endless joy and laughter to our lives. I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
