This podcast is literally the greatest thing I’ve listened to. Seriously if you have a few minutes, listen to this podcast!
(It really gets good around 10 minutes in)
Honestly, thank you for sharing this. It completely changed my perception of my own body and how I dress it.
Favorite quote:
What you wear is just for you. It doesn’t have to be for anyone else.
Clothes are speech, whether you like it or not. You do not have to intend to be saying what others perceive your clothes to be saying. They are a stereogram eye-trick poster billboard with endless meanings based on the preconceived notions that anyone who sees you has. For a woman whose body is by default more sexual because men are more visually sexually aroused than women, displaying more of the female body will send a sexual message, regardless of your intentions. If you don’t recognize it, it’s like humanoid aliens walking around naked expecting humans to get used to it instead of following the motto ‘when in rome do as the romans do’.
As you are not an alien you are expected to know better.
As men are more sexually aggressive by default, expecting them to be taunted without reacting at all, is to take a step back outside the threshold of civilization, into the realm of castes.
No matter what you tell yourself, what you wear isn’t just for you, it is a message, just as when you choose to speak in a recognizable language instead of grunts and howels it isn’t ‘just for you’.
As with an idiot who’s been told lies about what words mean or someone who doesn’t speak another language, the fact that you don’t know what you’re saying doesn’t excuse assault, but neither is it beyond your own responsibility to act like a competent human being and not send signals you don’t mean flippantly. You are not guiltless of the results no matter if another is 100% responsible for their own actions, you are just as responsible for your speech, which includes your clothes, whether you like it or not.

what the fuck is wrong with you?
You are not guiltless of the results no matter if another is 100% responsible for their own actions, you are just as responsible for your speech, which includes your clothes, whether you like it or not.
LET ME SAY IT NICE AND LOUD FOR YOU:
JUST BECAUSE A GIRL WEARS SOMETHING SLUTTY, IT DOESN’T GIVE ANYONE THE RIGHT TO RAPE HER. IT IS NOT HER FAULT AND SHE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE.
Please kindly take this (link) and shove it up your ass. You seem like the type of guy who would love it 😘
