Years back I was talking to a girl in Florida. She loved blackberries so much and was talking about how she wished they grew out there. I laughed and told her they're an invasive species. They fuckin suck.

I have family in the Tacoma area and that stuff is insane. I'd say it's worse than kudzu purely for all the thorns.

Oregon and Washington are where I run into it.

A while back I forgot the phrase "the juice isn't worth the squeeze" so instead I said "the berries weren't worth the brambles". Someone said it was the most country sounding wisdom they ever heard. That stuff really sucks lol.

Blackberries took over my backyard in Oregon. It was awful. So much work to beat them back and win that fight.

i have a whole hedge of them butted up against the forrest in my back yard but theyre out of sight enough that they dont bother me, the dogs dont get into em and i just happen to love blackberries with coffee icecream so i aint complainin lol

That’s pretty much how my troubles began. I had a few at the back of the property because me and the Mrs love blackberry pie and preserves etc.

When they’re cute and fun and then, suddenly before you know it, they’re all grown up and a pain in the ass and way too much work.

I had a bush in a field stop a crawler loader trying to drive through it to clear it away. WA brambles. The berries are great though
