Bloodymary TMA edition (obligatory spoiler warning for TMA and Iron Lung)
Just my opinions ofc, I’d love to hear other headcanons about this I just think a lot about these guys :))
Grace is an avatar of the Vast, touched by The End
- That is a Vast avatar if I have EVER seen one Simon Fairchild would take inspiration from the shit this man goes through. That being said I don’t think he’s a fully-realized avatar, I think he could have gotten there if he had died in space like he was intended to but I feel like the biodome would’ve kind of negated all the chances for him to die a Vast death.
- So instead the OTHER entity that’s been stalking him his whole life and waiting for him to succumb gets to have him instead; The End :D He’s viscerally terrified of dying, and I think he could have ties to the Eye (relentless pursuit of knowledge), the Hunt (chased down/fox themes), the Lonely (that is a lonely lonely man), I think it would be The End that has the most hold over him after everything and with where he ends up.
Simon is an avatar of the Slaughter who ends up almost getting eaten by the Buried
- Alright so The Butcher is the Slaughter yes I know, it just fits him really really well XD Specifically I think he was an almost-fully realized avatar; Filament Station was supposed to be his rebirth, but since he didn’t die in the explosion with the rest of his Brothers like he was supposed to, he never reached that last stage. Similar to when Melanie got the bullet removed from her leg, I think the burning off of his Eden tattoo did something to at least mostly sever the connection to the Slaughter which is why he is how he is now
- Aaaaaand then they stick him directly into a Buried domain. AT-5 is a stronghold of the Buried if I’ve ever seen one - Unknown depths, constantly shifting floors, passageways that make no sense and must be navigated by instinct alone, and the ability to trap. Other. Avatars. PEOPLE ALWAYS FORGET THE BURIED CAN DO THAT!! The Buried and The Web are the best at holding other avatars in place, the only avatar we see escape them is Jon since he’s Eye and it’s hard to trap an Eye avatar (*wink*). Anyway; Ellie is a conglomeration of a ton of other Eden Slaughter avatars trying to find their way out of this trap and of COURSE they want Simon in there too
- Also I think he lost his arm to the Buried not the Slaughter, hashtag he’s a tree and trees grow in the ground idk it makes sense to me XD
So my vision for this AU is basically just like. Both of them meet (probably on the Mary or in a Grace-goes-and-gets-Simon AU), they have to fix the astrophage (either a Dark creation or an Extinction creation- I lean towards Extinction :3), and then they figure out there’s been some fuckshit happening with the Entities and they’ve both been carrying around two of them yikes okay time to solve this now too
Bonus: Rocky becomes the first Eridian to encounter a human Fear entity (The Lonely) and half of the rest of the entities are pissed they’d have little to no effect on the Eridians XD
